Default Anyone have the hands of a 5-year-old? Signal Bulb Replacement

You would have been helpful about two hours ago. I picked up chrome bulbs for the front turn signals.. it seems Nissan didn't want '06 owners to have access to their headlight housings. I searched the forums and no luck.

For anyone with the same issue, remove the main headlight bolt and squeeze two fingers in the small hole on the top and twist the socket out... this will take some work and a little leverage. ***Always wear gloves when working with lightbulbs*** Use tweezers (careful not to break anything, tap anything electrical or grab the rubber washer) and pull the harness to the top. Squeeze the bulb off and switch it out and reinstall the harness into the headlight housing. Don't forget to screw the bolt back in. This took longer than installing my K&N... what a pain. Oh well, it's done and looks great!

Also, for those doing the rear signals, just remove the entire taillight assembly. Take a small flathead screwdirver and pop the caps off. Remove the three bolts and gently pull the housing off (gently because there are a few plastic tips fitted into grommets on the bottom. Then just reach down and switch out the bulb. Resintall everything just like you took it apart.

You didn't change them by going in through the wheel well? I heard that the '06 wheel well liners were more stout to deter headlight theft, but they went in, so they have to come out; this IS how bulbs are serviced...

I used a dremel and trimed the plastic above the light a little bit.

The room between the tire and the wheelwell is very limited and I don't think my hand would have made it to the housing unless I removed the wheels.. and that's too much work on a 100F Florida day.

I'm not to fond of dremeling things out, but hey, whatever works.

Pics.. sorry, but I'm still recovering. lol...

Yes, you do have to jack up the corner, remove the wheel (MIGHT be able to do it by cranking the wheel all the way to one side, but much easier just to remove the wheel), then pull the front fender well liner. You have complete access to the back of the headlight and all bulbs from there; this is the prescribed way of servicing the bulbs.

^ so is the fender well liner just that one peice under the fender, or is it connected to the plastic undertray (the one you remove to change your oil)??

It is separate from the under-tray and at least on the '03-'05 cars, it is in two parts; the front section is all that needs to came out (actually, you can pull it down to allow access without completely removing it). It is held on by a couple of screws and a few push fasteners (may be different on the '06).

I did mine, it was a pretty tight spot to work in, but it wasnt too bad. All I did was remove the plastic cover, didnt take off the wheel or anything.

I got long fingers. *hehe* So it was a breeze to get my fore-finger and middle-finger in there to twist the bulb and pull it out then switch to my new LED bulbs and slide it back in, then give it a nice twist. Takes me roughly 10 minutes to do both sides.

I have an 06 removing the tire there are like 3 clips and just a phillips screw on the fender. I don't understand how to get the rear ones off though? Are you saying the whole thing just pops off with a flat head?
