Sup Dave:
The guy I use and refer everyone to is not in the Boston area, but rather a bit more south: in West Bridgewater just South of Brockton. His name is Ernie. I just went to his shop today and talked with him about my Z-- Tell him Jason Rizzo sent ya- I've sent LOTs of people. He is located just off of 24 (exit16, I think W.Bridgewater). Company is Advanced Glass Coating--#380 West Center St. (AKA Route 106) Phone: 508-588-9800.
He does an AWESOME job- best I've ever seen. He did my Venge in like '98 and it never turned colors, peeled, nothing=PERFECT. His price will prob. be 200-250, I'm not sure. Personally I don't care about the price, cuz he does the best job around
Hope that helps!!

thanks,
djk

Hi guys,

I'm a Z wannabe looking to get into one hopefully summer/fall. Where did you guys get your cars? I've been to Quirk in Braintree and Fireside in North Attleboro. Quirk seemed a bit pushy. How were your experiences, prices, etc? Thanks!

i got my car at marlborough nissan. i actually had about 5 or 6 dealers trying to get my business. i just worked with them till they dropped the price and threw in everything for me that i wanted. i told the different dealers that the other dealers were giving me better deals (which they weren't) and they would counteroffer. so...i lied....but i got my way. i'm in sales...so i know the **** they try to pull with you. the people in marlborough were pretty good....and they threw in a lot of extras. i just got the base model....but, i got all the options (kick plates, aero package, trunk mats, floor mats, oil changes, maintenance....all that stuff thrown in for free). i paid under msrp...basically paid what they got for the car. i got a great deal....cause when i was about to sign the papers...i got up and walked out....he followed and dropped more off the car. i just kept working him....until he reached a price i wanted. anyway....just get all the dealers thinking you want to work with them....then they will bend everything for you...

hope that helps...

I bought mine from Clay on Rt. 1 in Dedham from Matt Laquinta (tell him I sent ya -- He knows me VERY well!!). They did a great job with me. Very easy to work with. I feel I got a very good deal ( I wanted to get a little more off, but they had the EXACT model/package that I wanted, so I bent a little for it). They were great- Matt checks up on me every so often to see how everything is. They appreciate that I bought a Z and were/are willing to make my business their #1 priority. I highly recommend them!! Good luck!!
ZZ
PS- they have quite a few Z's and NOW is a pretty good time to buy-- before the fair weather hits and everyone wants one!!!

I actually had a different experience at Clay. I called around the first or second day preorders were available (~Jan 19th or 20th, 2002) and they told me that everyone else was charging $5000 over MSRP for preorders but "Scott Clay is a big fan of the Z car and is only charging $2000 over MSRP for the first 10 preordered". I actually faxed information over to them because "they had one allocation space still available and then it would be August before you could order one". I finally came to my senses, called Nissan of Natick and they said they would sell at MSRP. I live in Needham so I would have preferred to go with Clay (in Dedham), but after that experience I lost faith in them. I would still like to take my car to them for service if anyone can convince me that this is not typical of the dealership. By the way the person I spoke to was a female... I definitely agree that now would be the time to buy one.

I bought a VW Passat from Quirk and they were by far the best price I could find. Just had to keep saying "no" everytime they would come back from talking to the manager. Finally they said "yes".

I assume that most people reading this thread are from the Boston area and hope you can make it up to Plaistow, NH on April 27th. Should be a really good time and the drive/photos/drinks afterwards will be great. Here's some links to the two threads on it:

NH meet (initial thread)
NH Meet (2nd thread)

I should have my car back from Boston Acoustics (project car) by then.

Default Fireside Nissan

Bought mine in October at Fireside in North Attleboro. Also bought my Frontier there as well and have been getting my 280ZX serviced there for years. Owner owns a bunch of old Z's and mechanics are knowledgable as well - took my old Z to several places before these guys with horrible results - these guys were able to diagnose some issues with my old Z that others were not able to resolve.

Also, while others were marking up prices in October, including Quirk and Marlborough, these guys were selling at MSRP from the getgo.

If you want to talk to these guys, ask for Kevin - he is their internet sales manager. Tell him Craig sent you

Thanks to everyone for the input. From the experience I've had so far in the "I'm thinking about it" stage Fireside seems the most easy going. Quirk was pushy and I kept getting calls from them telling me to come in even after I said it would be months before I decided. And also they were charging over MSRP. Its nice to see people getting under MSRP. Guess I'll have to break out my anti-sales persons BS ;-)

My experience with Fireside was terrible. First they said they would take a deposit on the ragtop then when I got there they refused. I understood and was still interested in the coupe. I called ahead to schedule a test drive and when I got there they told me that they had to accompany me and since it was Sunday they couldnt do it (but someone else had just returned from a solo test drive in a redline)!
The salesman literally ran (sprinted) from car to car to show me colors and then told me to come back (for a third time) later in the week when he might have time to test drive.
Essentially, I got the bums rush! Just so you know I am 42 and have my own software company and am not poor so they should not have got the impression that I wanted to mess around. I do not get it but they certainly will not get my business nor recommendation. I left there and drove to Marlboro where I test drove a CS Touring. They were great at Marlboro.

D,

Just curious what your salesman's name was. So far they have been ok to me but I have not talked about putting money down. I have been there for service (which sucks) but their sales guys were nice (had an older gentleman , Sal and a younger guy with blond hair). I think there is one guy there (taller middle aged, dark hair) which looked shifty. Did you end up getting your ride yet. Quirk Nissan was ok but they were also charging over sticker back when I went there.

I may end up going back to upstate NY where my family has purchased 3 nissan's from our guy there.

Let me know how your buying experience goes or what else you find out about our local dealers, I'd be very insterested. Right now I'm thinking of waiting for 2004 but you never know. Good Luck!

First Sal (who made up stories but is nice enough). He got busy and walked away (!) the sales manager and a sales guy (Ed ?) then helped me but they were useless.

I went on to Glick today. A friend of mine knows larry glick. Anyhow, Paul will give discounts. Make sure you ask for him though if you go because he is salary - not commissioned.

Good luck.

I am looking for a good tint shop in Mass. I am in plymouth. I currently have 20% but need to scrape and retint. I paid 150 in VA to have it done the first time and would like to pay that again, but i will pay more if necessary.

Wow, a 2.5 year old thread! Goota love the search function. Anyway, a lot of the Boston/South Shore Z/G people use Extreme Clean in Weymouth (~20 minutes north of Plymouth). There's a couple of threads on them on the "local" board (www.G350Z.com) but here is one that lists some prices, pictures, comments, etc. I think they may give you a discount if you mention the G350Z.com board (which you should stop by so you can make some of the meets next year!).
