Hey, I appreciate everyone reminding me and others to stick with what "you the Z owner" likes...because it's true. I'm not trying to get everyone elses' approval of my car, I just try to stay open-minded to suggestions. Sometimes styling suggestions from others can help reveal a different approach to your mods that you might like a little more.

If you like the lights I have on (I do), then here's a link to where I got them...plus they send you a full catalog of all the parts they sell for every model Z, it's an awesome catalog....(let me know if the link fails):

And for those reading this thread wondering "why footwell lighting?"....Well, the answer is simple, "because."

Yea, I ran 6" tubes on both sides.

I simply have them tied into the cigar lighter with the on/off switch that came with the kit. I want to upgrade (eventually) to a nice on/off switch that's integrated into the center console. Had time over the Thanksgiving weekend to do it but I got lazy.

what if you ran power from both the dome light tap and teh cig lighter to a DPDT switch for the footwell lights so it would be either on, off, or dome? seems like that would be a good setup.

Just to update this thread to help anyone in the future.
I have an 04 Z, and did not have a purple wire.
If you want the footwell lights to go on only when the door is open, the wires you need in the Drivers side A pillar are:
Red with black stripe = +
Pink = --

I wired mine at the Body Module under the drivers side kickplate, one wire in the instructions was the incorrect color, prob. the same one you are describing. I did it a couple of years ago, so I don't remember exactly what the color was. Mine fade out very nicely after the door is shut.

Does anyone know the replacement bulb number for this kit?

Thanks
