Default How to: Debadge

Ok so I've been searching for about an hour now about how to remove the side Z emblems on the fenders. I am looking to replace them. If theres another thread already (which im sure there is, I just cant find it) just post the link. Thanks guys.

Its very easy. All you need is fishing line and a hairdryer.

Step one: Use hair dryer to heat up the adhesive on the reverse side of the emblem.

Step two: carefully use the fishing line and remove adhesive and badge.

If for some reason you still have some adhesive left on your paint use a soft towel with soapy water and clean it off.

Thanks a lot. Will floss work as well? Should I use the wax floss?

Waxed floss will also work fine. Just make sure you're heating up your emblems enough with you're hairdryer, otherwise the floss/fishing line will rip through the foam of the double-side tape instead of the adhesive.

If you still have tons of foam left from the tape, you can remove it by rubbing your fingers back and forth on it and applying pressure while heating it up with the hairdryer. Clean all the residue off with some Goo-Gone (or similar non-caustic adhesive remover) and a soft towel.

The Nissan Hamburger symbols will have holes under them, but not the "350z" emblem

Even if it has holes, to remove the emblem you have to use either fishing line or dental floss.
