Default CF Hood...trouble latching?

I just got a Fiberimages hood from a member on this board. I can't seem to latch down the hatch. The hood looks perfectly fine, I was thinking maybe the strut bar is rubbing? I pushed the hood (pretty hard) all the way down...still not latching...help?

Have you tried adjusting your latch up?

You should be able to loosen the bolts that hold up the latch and adjust the latch up or down to make it fit better.

Well, I loosened the (3) bolts and adjusted it all the way up towards the hood. Still not latching. Right now, I just put the latch to one side and held it up with one screw. Now the hood closes all the way down. I might have to modify the 2 holes so the latch will sit even higher

Does anyone have other ideas? I don't really want to modify those holes.

The part of the hood that attaches to the latch...if it is a metal piece you can place washers to make it sit lower

Default Hole in One

The Seibon VSII hood was hitting the plenum, so I cut a hole as shown in the pics. Also took out the strut bar. The hood closed fine with a push.

Anyone with a strut bar may run into probs with these hoods. Seibon claims OEM fitment, but that's def not reality.

i also forgot to mention, if the hood it too far forward, or too far back, it may also have latching issues. i ran with stock strut bar and the cusco one.. both no problems..

you may also be not pressing down hard enough in the front. you need to press you hand down right over where the latch is..

I have seen a CF hood fit poorly because of interference with a cooling plate.

this seems to be a fairly common issue with seibon hoods... also, removing the strut bar completely is not a bright idea.

Looks like Seibon hoods are hits and misses. I had a 5/16 MD spacer too and needed to cut a hole in the hood right above the edge of the plenum in order to close the hood. Be prepared to spend some time on this job.
