The price for living in this state, everything is at a premium out here, but usually well worth it.

I have 20% on the sides and the Irvine PD pulled me over just to give me a tint ticket. Not speeding, nothing else. He didn't put a gage on it, can this be fought, or should i just take it off?

I also have 20% tint on my windows, but I always avoid cops and roll down my windows if I see them. So far no tickets in 3 years. There are certain tint places that offer to take off and put back on your tint for a fix it ticket, so doing that would save you some trouble.

I have 50% tint on my 350Z and I got a warning from the Police only. I got lucky he didn't give me a fix it ticket. Because getting it removed is a PITA.

Like others have stated CA laws says, you can't have any tint on your front windshield, passenger, and driver side. But, you can tint your rear and back windows as dark as you want.

I personally love 20%. I have a friend with 5% and you can't see crap out at night. Even headlights are hard to see.

I got a speeding ticket AND a ticket for my 35% tint. After "seeing" the judge I went to the ticket window to pay for the tickets. They gave me the option of removing the tint OR paying $100 for the fine AND KEEPING THE TINT ON. It cost more than that to re-tint so I paid the fine.

Talk about CA state-sponsored extortion!!!

35% is not legal tint limit. According to California state tinting laws you must allow 70% of VLT to pass through or you may get fine ranging from $25 to $200. Read about complete laws
