Warning: Stay away from Siebon and Carbon LTD
Boycott Carbon LTD, he is a poor business person and doens't know the meaning of customer service or standing behind what you sell...
Right after the new year I bought a Siebon TS hood from Carbon LTD. Seemed like a nice guy, I was excited to get my new hood. Well the hood shipped to my body shop and sat for a week or two until I could get a slot in their busy schedule. My body kit was fitted and hood placed on the car.
The hood had major fitment issues. Bad gaps on the left and right, crooked even. The hood would not latch, and didn't even clear the factory strut bar. So here I am wasting my time and money, 2-3 hrs of labor fusing with the hood, plus the car is not getting painted due to the hold up. I contact Jim at Carbon LTD, a site sponsor... and he tells me he needs pics of the fitment issues. I am out of town for a few days and can't do that for him but ask the body shop to do it, they can't get them to upload and get frustrated and move on to other things. I am not responsable for getting you pics pal, your hood is no good and that's all their is to say about it.
Here is where I get pissed off, He explains to me that he needs to go back to Siebon and file a warranty to get me a refund or replacement hood. Whoa buddy, it's your company selling the hood and you need to stand behind said product. Expert body shop people that have been in the industry for 20 years are saying the hood is extremely poor quality and simply will not fit right no matter what is done. He has the nerve to make me jump through hoops and trouble shooting his poor product.
I have had enough and have disputed the charge, told him to come get his hood. I don't want it and will never deal with him again. He is fighting the charge back throwing disclaimer crap from his and Seibon's web site back in my face. Newsflash a disclaimer does not protect you from selling inferior product to people and them forcing them to pay for it. It's bad, you are obligated to return in or better yet issue a complete refund. It's has cost me time and money, lesson learned... please for the sake of others thinking about dealing with him and Seibon, be warned. This is not the first fitment issue with Seibon I am now after the fact reading about, and not the first problem with carbon Ltd.

I think Jim should have a disclaimer saying that he only sells the hoods and if there's anything wrong with them that he would have to deal with seibon. I would assume that the person I buy things from would take care of any issues I have, but he apparently does not make it clear to his customers that he's just the middle man

+1
it's seibon
and besides the pointL no **** he is going to want pictures! who would pay for shipping (what 100 bucks? pssshht) when he doesn't know what is wrong, maybe you just didn't like it? maybe it is pysical damage from the bodyshop stepping on it.
your post is out of line.

i do believe you should have waited until he really wronged you to make a thread like this. Anyone would have asked for pictures of the damage. The hood not latching is a VERY common thing, you need to adjust the screws on the latch to raise it up a bit. I suggest editing or even removing this thread untili the story turns bad.
?group buy? no, it just seems rediculous. people want things to go certain way and sometimes it doesn't. I don't see it is at all unreasonable to ask for pics before accepting the cost of shipping a hood back. not only is that a hood that he now has to eat in the short term but the shipping cost and then the cost of shipping out another hood I am sure he wouldn't make you pay for.
but this is the problem when hoods are drop shipped. <if they aren't drop shipped and Jim inspects them and lets them out like that....

Wow these are all coming up too soon. I agree on the pictures part though. He needs to verify with pics..so thats not the part to blame. Anyhow GL with everything and see you in another 2 months posting the same thing again after an initial failed attempt by Carbon Limited.... At which point $150 bucks will be issued back to you via paypal.
oh my. The first two threads I can understand but this guy is more then unreasonable. The hood was purchased on 1/1/07 and sent to his bodyshop, County Line Auto Body . The next contact I had with the customer was on 2/27/07 when he sent me this e-mail.
""Jim,
After another look at the Seibon hood you sold me I have decided I really don't want it. We tried again to manipulate for fitment but had no luck.
I tried to take some pics but they are not uploading for some reason. The hood clearly does not fit, it has gaps on the left and right, fitment issues foward and back. In addition the latch does not work and even if it did, the hood would be pressing against the bumber so hard it would leave marks on it. Plus the carbon is so thin where you press down to close I'm afriad the hood will eventually break. It is not something I am willing to sit on for weeks whie you discuss warranty with siebon.
You sold it so you are responsible for the quality of it and need to stand behind it.
If you issue a call tag, you can pick it up at the same location you dropped it off at.
At this point I will not comment on the situation on the forums, but give me a hard time and I will. I have been doing some reading and know this is not the first seibon with issues. Please issue me a complete refund asap.
Chris Gunther"
I then contacted Chris but he was out of town and asked me to speak to his bodyshop. I called Jay, the bodyshop manager at County Line, and went over the possible solutions to fixing the fitment issue. We basically went through a check list of possible problems and both were baffled. I then asked if the car was in an accident, which he says it was involved in a front end collision but didn't look like the fenders had been removed. I told Jay and Chris (the customer) that I would need pictures of the said fitment issues to see for myself what the problem was. This was the last I hear from Chris or his body shop until this morning 3/20/07 when I was contacted by paypal about a buyer dispute.
Am I being unreasonable here? Are pictures that out of the question? I dont know what more you guys can expect from me. I even called his bodyshop myself to help with the install process, but when a car has been in a front end collision, who knows what the problem could be.
