Smile CF rear hatch for 350Z

Ive been wanting to buy a carbon fiber hatch for my 350z.But first I would like to know, is it a pain in the *** to get it installed?!?!Are is it fairly simple!?!?

I have never done it before but I would assume it is not that difficult. I wouldn't let that hinder your decision to buy. You and a buddy should be able to handle it. Try the search function:

It's pretty simple. You should be able to do it with a buddy. It's even easier if you don't swap the OEM glass and go with a lexan rear window kit. Most glass shops charge $100+ to swap glass and don't guarantee your glass wont break.

the only thing w/ the lexan rear window is that it doesnt have the heating lines in it, but its not that big of a deal. i estimate itll save around 60 pounds when teamed up w/ the lexan

Biggest pain is regrounding the defroster wires... i still have not done that.

It's not too bad, just take your time and get some help. Like an idiot I tried to do it by myself and ran into some issues.

1. The nuts on the hinges are very soft and easy to strip out.
2. Remove the rear window squirter. You will want to lift your hatch up as high as possible to get to the nuts mentioned above. The squirter nozzle will dent your roof if you lift your hatch up too far.
