Default Annoying squeaking rattling noise

Hello new to this 350Z site. I own a 2003 Performance model 350Z. About 4-6 months ago my window or door starting making this squeaky rattly noise - comes and goes and you can hear it going over bumps etc. Its like chinese water torture!

The last time I took my car in to be serviced by Nissan I asked them to see if they could resolve the matter. As expected, their response was "dahhh we took it for a test drive and could not hear anything. Cars these days have lots of plastic parts in high heat they can start making noise."

Has anyone experienced a similar situation ? Any advisable resolutions ? If I can't get rid of this noise I am going to get rid of the car !

Thanks for any help !

Hey,

I dont know whether you have the same problem I had but I had this metal sounding rattle coming from the passenger side. I found out that it was coming from the passenger side dash where glove compartment sits in other normal cars. The rattle came from a metal casing that covers the passenger side airbag. It is easily accessible with couple flat screw drivers. If you think the sound is coming from there, I will try to write up a DIY for you.

Default squeak noise

My window can be closed and opened - it does not matter. This problem seems to have progressed and now it seems worse with the window open. Was considering taking the door off and apart but don't know how.

2003 had the most issues Check your front tires often for uneven wear.

Default Squeak sound

Thanks can you write me up a DIY on the front passenger side air bag bracket ?
Had a recall on the front tires due to toe in. Nissan adjusted the toe in and replaced the front tires due to excess tire roar and uneven tread wear. ZERO problems ever since. Running a sweet set of sticky Dunlops right now, very quiet no uneven wear.

Here's a how-to on taking the door apart. I would suggest doing this to check for rattles. If you want, with the door apart, turn your car on and rev it a little to see if you can get some vibration going enough to better localize where the sound is coming from inside the door (if that is where it actually is). Either way, you should have a better idea where the sound is exactly coming from after doing this.

Take it back to Nissan service and go out in the car with them when they test drive it. Point out the squeaking sound and make sure they hear what you hear.
