Bluer HID's?
I find that I personally prefer the slightly bluer tone of the Lexus and Mercedes HID headlights. Has anyone attained this look with the 350Z's HID's, and if so what king of bulbs are needed, and how much do they run?
I've got 6000k philips ultinons in my base z.
I think they look real good, a little bluer than stock - but not that dull ricer blue, it's a crisp bright blue-white. Much brighter than my old halogens as well.

I to prefered much better that lexus and BMW look I uograded to JDM Philips 6000K huge difference more to the Purple side looks incredible. I believe that the Bulbs I'm running are not meant for US and Canadian Markets cause it clearly says on the Bulb that its for the European and Asian Markets only.

What was the "huge difference" you are referring to, was it the amount of light the bulbs were emitting? Its a fact that the higher the kelvin rating you go with HID bulbs, the less useable light there is. Plus, they have a lower lifespan. So basically, you are paying for appearance.

The stock HIDs are a pure white giving things a more natural appearance from the drivers seat and throw a lot more light a lot further than the Ultinons. I switched back to the stock bulbs. I live in a rural area with winding wooded roads where I have to be wary of critters running in the street. In that reagard I actually found the distance degradaion of the higher kelvin bulbs dangerous and found myself outdriving the headlights. I'd hate to imagine how dim 8000s would be...
