Default Opening tail lights

has anyone ever successfully opened the tail lights, put them back to gether, and have them still work? I have heard two different stories:

1) bake them just like the headlights, or use a heat gun. Loosens the adhesive so you can pry it apart, similar to the headlights

2) don't dare bake them because they have circutry in them that would be ruined at the temps necessary to loosen the adhesive

if anyone has heard anything regarding a successful open and re-seal of the tail lights, i'd love to hear about it.

I tried...you'll do damage for sure...you need a back up set to replace the lens.

One way and one way only: Hack it open! Good luck trying to put it back together though!
