right now I'm leaning towards 35. my z is pikes peakwhite. my other option is 15. Just curious what everyone is running, and if they like it. Any harassment from the po?

Default Tinting in AZ.

Here in Arizona 35% is max allowed on side fronts. I have Limo (5%) on hatch and small sides and 20% on roll downs. No problems from the law and that included a 6 week 9,000 mile road trip across the US in April/May. Regards, Jim

I have the same as jimH

along with a 5% visor strip on the windsheild(I LOVE this, I was disappointed the window wasnt tinted up top from the factory, but this fixed that)

I wouldnt change anything. tho Ill admit I wish the windsheild was tinted to 50% or so, but Ill never get that done.

oh no harassment from the police.

I dont do much wrong tho, if they were to pull me over itd have to be for tint along, and I think they have better things to do... I dont pull up next to them tho, and if I do, my windows are down. I dont give them any reason to want to hassle me.

35% all around, no window strip, looks great.

I had the rear 5% and front 35% on my Prelude but it was sometimes difficult to see out the back at night in dimly lit areas.

what's it running you guys to have this car tinted? i've heard around $250? Is that high? when i had my eclipse done it was $150 i think. Glass layout is about the same. maybe prices have gone up since '97..pretty sure they have. needless to say, that tint stayed on that car unitl i sold it this past march with no peeling or bubbling up. damn good tint job! Now i need to do the Z

Brendan - you saw my Z with 35% and you also know how john e law around here loves to give you tickets for dark tint - lol. I promise this time not to hand you the keys to your car right before getting pulled over - lol.

15% on Zs does look good though, there's a blue Touring Z in cincy with it.

The one down-side of having tint like that built into the windshied is it forces you to mount your laser detecter lower, or accept lower sensitivity.

Do any of you guys have problems with haziness or foginess in the rear window tinting because of the rear-window defroster?

On my Maxima the rear window got so bad it looked like it was constantly smeared with gunk, even when just cleaned. Car was 8 years old when I sold it. It was a quality tinting job all around, but that rear window haziness has me a little leary of tinting the rear again.

Cost me $160, and most others are paying somewhere around that or lower because they know people or something. I would keep looking if $250 was how much I got quoted.

Thanks for all the info, I"m still alittle unsure. I think 15 is going to be to dark. My tint guy says the don't make the 20 in the graphite anymore. Graphite is the color that wont turn purple. So I guess its 35, unless tomarrow I change my mind.

Kev, lol, yea that wasn't johnny law though. Thats was the I want to be johnny law stuck up *****, who gave us that ticket.
