i have the wiring harness, ballast, buld, igniter and everything out of an OEM HID 350 light...do i need anything else to install them in a base headlight? maybe an adapter for the bulb? idk.

base Z headlamp socket is 6pins, HID headlamp wiring harness socket is 8pins, you either have to cut the 8pins socket and rewire to your 6pins sockets, but you have to figure out what each wire are for, dont miss and match. i dont this.......it just take time to figure out!

no, will not work. it is not a simple "plug and play". you should have just got the HID light and install it that way instead. the housings are different between the lights and and the non HID will not accept the HID components (it's been tried numerous times). if you had searched before attempting this it would have saved you some money and time

so if i put the hid harness on the headlight i would eliminate the need for that modification right?

i love how some of you come off sounding sometimes lol. i haven't wasted any time and/or money. i had the wiring, ballasts, bulbs, and everything just lying around, one of the headlight housings was given to me and i won the other on ebay for 99 cents literally. and i DID search but found no thread on exactly what the difference was just a fact here and a maybe there so that's why i posted. sounds like all i need is some D2R to H7 adapters now.

All you have to do is use wire up the two wires coming off the ballast( I believe they are pink and black) and connect them to the non base main headlight wires and you are set to go. Very easy to do. This is the same you would have to do if you were using an aftermarket HID kit.

Query: I purchased Kensun 3000 HID conversion kit . . . and shouldn't have. The website had no "vehicle specific" way to make sure I purchased the correct kit. After trying without success several times to figure out a way to install the new HID lights, I contacted Kensun. They explained that "some Japanese cars seem not be be plug-and-play like other cars are." I said, "well THAT would have been nice to know before wasting weeks of time trying to McGyver the kit into working. Now I've modified the plastic around the new HID bulbs enough that the bulbs will stay in the sockets. My question: how do I wire the HID's to the wiring harness on the car? Do I use part of the old wiring harness from the old lights, to operate the blinkers etc., or do I just forget them? I am ONE FRUSTRATED GUY now, and needless to say, rather spiteful of Kensun! HELP?!!!

Exactly what did you order? The Kensun website gives plenty of information regarding fitment. You should have ordered the H-7. If anything else was ordered, I understand your frustration. The H-7 kit should fit your base model perfectly.

I've had zero problems with Kensun's kits. I did a conversion on my Eclipse before and recently converted my base (non-hid) 350Z as well.

Did you buy the H7 kit? The kit fits perfectly and is completely plug&play other than drilling the route the wires through the access cover.
