I bought the tail lights with a z as the actual brake light but I guess I was an idiot and ignored the fact that it said 03-06 and its a whole different lighting set up. Any one have an idea of how I can convert my setup to the 06?

 

What? Are you saying that you bought aftermarket tails for your 08 and they said they fit 03-06? I thought the lights were the same from 03-08, other than the 06+ being LED.

 

Yeah I thought it would be the same too. Turns out the plug for the tail light on the 08 is different because it doesn't have a bulb attatched to it, it's just LED's.

 

It's actually 03-05 were the old style tails. And then 06-08 have LED tail lights.

 

Right, I know the 06+ are LED, so if you're buying a set of aftermarket LED tails and they say they fit the 2006 Z, shouldn't the plug be the same? I know those going from bulbs to LEDs have had issues, but I am curious about ordering a set of tails for my 07 and don't want them to not fit.

I found a few threads about these tails, however nobody has posted about putting them on 06+ Zs, any ideas?

I mean, they look pretty much like my 07's current tails, minus the whole "black" thing. I would think they would be plug and play.

 

i think that those would be the same as mine...on the bottom of the tail light there is supposed to be a bulb and the 06+ or 07+ dont have the bulb in it. So id make sure that it says 07

 

ok i dont know the actual years i just know that the lights dont work with my setup and i was looking for some help on fitting them together

I did and found some threads, but they all seem to be people with 03-05s putting aftermarket LED tails on their cars. My concern is if I order a set of aftermarket LED tails, will they just plug right into my 07's current connectors. I really like the black ones I posted a link to, but I don't want to spend the money only to have them not work right.

lol i know this is .. soo 2009 but yeah.. i bought a pair of the after market, stated 03 to 06 and guess what the plug is very different than whats on my 2006 model. Saw the same light on other sellers on ebay and stated for 2003 to 2005 only. what the f is wrong with this ebay sellers.......

 

Your fault for shopping for lights on Ebay, I would try to see if you can get them refunded
