Default burned out headlight from ebay

hey so i was quoted $149.99 for 1 bulb! and im wondering i see so many listings on ebay for bulbs with better lighting even for dirt cheap is it safe to stick one of these bulbs in there?? Example...

http://cgi.ebay.ca/HID-XENON-HEAD-LI...item1e59c4cafd

i need 1 but to match the same color i need 2... would it be fine to use these???

There are a couple vendors in the Vendor Exterior forum that carries bulbs. Here's one:

Let us know how it goes after a few months on them. I'm sure they'll work, just don't know for how long. You'll probably have poor light output with those 8k bulbs though.

I don't believe there are filaments in HID bulbs. The light is obtained from an arc of electricity. A solenoid moves a small shield to change from low to high beams.

The auction seems kinda fishy to me. They claim 3300 lumens but lumens will drop off as the kelvin temp increases past 4700k. They also claim that 10000k bulbs light output is still good which is complete crap, try driving on a wet road at night with bulbs that are 10000k and you will get into an accident. For the price it is worth a try but they are probably rebased capsules and wont see as long of life as quality brands. Ive had really good luck with mtech bulbs and ballasts, probably best bang for your buck. Ive got 6 mtech ballasts and bulbs in my 06 pathfinder and havent replaced a bulb since the install in 06. Watch out on ebay though when your looking for brand name hid kits as there is a ton of fake kits badged as the real thing. Just my 2 cents
