Hypothetical question: If Audi had never come out with this, and this was an original idea by GReddy, would it still look as bad on the Z? Is it only considered "rice" because it's a knockoff of a high-end German brand, or is it "rice" because it looks bad, period?

Someone made the comment that LED's in the side reflectors are better than these. But in the world of rice vs. non-rice, I would argue that sidemarker LED implants are just a knock-off of Porche's horizontal front bumper LED bars, but rotated 90 degrees. No?

I mean, Audi implemented and came out w/ this first. Thereafter, everyone tried to imitate it on non-luxury cars for the most part. Some looked ehhh, others looked just completely out of place. I'm planning on doing it to the side markers purposely b/c if feel that it should have came that way. I'm not adding the LEDs in a horizontal manner to imitate any of those cars.

I'm pretty sure that if GReddy were to have done it first, it would be all the craze. The benefit to the Z (and reason they made this application) is that it can pull off both luxury as well as sporty look. Many people run polished wheels, and although not my style, the car does pull it off. I'm almost positive that once some of you see it in person, you'll be inclined to get a set. In fact, I think some of you like it a lot more than you're leading on in your posts...of course IMO. These are made with QUALITY materials from RAYBRIG, so it is certain that they are not cheap china made

Not sure if Audi had it first or Lexus (I think it was the latter)...but either way, I've yet to see a car that I personally like them on. They certainly perform a function on many cars, as they can't be missed (Mercedes E class, later gen 997's), but that is the exact reason I don't like them. Sticks out like a sore thumb
