The problem with Plastdip isnt the dip itself, its all these kids that get a can to do something small, but end up dipping the rims, door handles, roof, stripes on hood, gas cap, "top of lip spoiler", etc etc. Then it just looks like crap.
I agree.

I plastidipped my door handles black just to see what it looks like without proper paint.

Didn't like it so I changed it back

Default new here: Hmm to plast dip my rims or not to.. That is the ?

Hey everybody. Was wondering about your thoughts on plasti dipping rims to see what it'll look like before powder coating. Or should I just keep them the oem look?

I spoke to my mom too and she said it is worth trying and if you dont like it, just peel it off. I personally have painted my door handles gloss black and installed black pearl badges. Looks much cleaner this way instaed of using plasti dip.

Sounds like you mom does not have an inner ricer. Save your plastirice money and pay someone to paint your hood.

I was wondering if they had aftermarket badges instead! Do you happen to have a link?

Didn't ask for your input on my hood. So keep extra comments to yourself. Thanks!

http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/31-1144

http://www.courtesyparts.com/black-p...z-p-19550.html

These are two quality online stores that have them. They are not cheap but look better than spray painting or plasti dipping. There are other black pearl emblems as well. Just check out the links.

LMFAO youre never going to powder coat your rims if you plastirice them.
You remind me of the kids that say "ill get an intake now and turbo later".

Honestly, leave them as is, get 25mm spacers all around and your wheels will look much better than "murdered" out or whatever ricer color you want to paint them.

Plastidip is good, if you use 1-3 coats then you fail. In order to get the entire sheet of plastidip off in one try is generally 4-6 coats if you even go that deep. Even pressure washed it and never came off, I live in Alaska too.

PlastiDip is the answer! I used it on my skirts and lower Diffuser on my front end. To get sharp lines I pull my tap about a minute after I spray. Always make sure your pieces are clean, and make sure you dont over apply.... It will bubble or have a wierd texture.

-Cheers!

Default Plasti Dipped Wheels Black

Havent posted in awhile but figured Id share my most recent little project.

Now, I know many of you are completely against Plasti Dip and everything it stands for. But, I am not inclined to spend hundreds on new wheels or a new finish, and I enjoy creative projects like this.

That being said, see below for the before/afters...I think it will be hard to argue the results. I was meticulous with the preparation, so Im hoping the durability holds up for awhile. Let me know your questions/comments.
Before

A template to keep from excess overspray

Came out very nicely

Big improvement
