I just picked this up and had a body shop (which has no experience installing aftermarket anything on a car) install it on my car. Well I get what I deserve...the fitment is off completely. I just want to make sure that its there fault and not the hoods "flawed design". I was told that the OEM styled hood for the 07-08 z is supposed to be a near perfect replacement (doubt that). Has anyone had problems with fitment? Should i just go to another shop to re-fit the hood?

Given I knew aftermarket wouldn't be perfect, however I didn't expect it to be this bad. In any case, I'll be making my way to DTM to see if they can refit it. I'll take pix and post them tomorrow.

it looks like they just needed to move the front of the hood over to the passenger side a bit since that side is bigger then the driver side. get two friend loosen the rear bolt on the driver side and the front bolt on the passenger side that hold the bracket to the hood and try sliding it over a bit

Well I'm very **** about my car. It wasn't my intention to buy a cf hood but it saved me money. If i cant get it to be even, then I will sell it and get OEM.
There is some adjustment in the hood hinges where they bolt to the hood because the bolt holes are ovals, not round. So, you could maybe slide the hood forward a little to fix some of that over-headlight gap.
Really though, for a carbon part from Seibon, VIS, etc, you should be happy with that fit. If it bothers you, then yeah, you need to buy an OEM hood.

I think I'll get together with some friends and try sliding it over a bit. if it sits evenly then I'll be happy. I knew the cf wouldn't sit perfect but I didn't expect it to be like this. Lets see what happens.
my Seibon fit is very good but my body guy
had to enlarge the hinge holes to give him more wiggle room. next time take it to someone who is familiar with aftermarket parts and how to make them fit better.

The fitment on mine is pretty dead on.. You really have to adjust it a few times to get it perfect.
IMO--If you wanted to paint the CF hood from the start, I would have stayed with the stock hood as its a little lighter and is OEM.
