Default Ideas for clean install... rear coilover extenders

Attached is the pic of what I'm talking about. I wanna of course install the rear panel that covers it and drill a hole to make room for the extenders, but I want to make this look clean. Anyone have any ideas as to how to make this look clean and look good?

Cut a hole in the panel, and cut the extender down till it just pokes thru.

Is there a way to cut from the top where the adjustment know is? Also what tools to use to cut.

Thinking I'll use a wire grommet to clean up the whole when the top is cut.

remove one clip from the top panel and it should snap right over it. if you cut through the plastic , it'll hit your back window and make terrible noises

You don't need to cut it. Just push it down far enough so just the **** is sticking out. I cut a 3/4 in hole in the cover and got some rubber gromits from the auto parts store. Ended up looking sweet when I was done. I'll take some pics later.

It doesn't rattle since the extenders are sorta freely hanging inside the strut bar?

If it does rattle, just get an appropriately-sized piece of heater hose, or foam pipe insulation (from Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.), and slip it over the extender.

No there is no rattle. The extenders have like a teflon sleeve on them an they just kinda spiral around in there. I drilled out the second hole in the cross brace thing so the extender's would be further away from the hatch when it was closed. They clear the hatch by like a half inch.

This is something I've been looking at doing for a while now. Do you have any more details on how you shortened the adjusters?
