55+ Watt HID kit
the stock 35 watt HIDs arent cutting it anymore. where i live there are ALOT of backroads with little to no lighting so i need slightly brighter lights. Does anyone have any reccomendations for any 55+ watt HID Kits?

I don't think there are any 55W kits, but there are a few 50W kits. TRS sells one that looks pretty good, i'm thinking about trying it myself... If you do try it, let us know how it goes. You'll have to cut into your stock wiring from the headlamp to the ballast. My only concern is how the vehicles electrical system will respond to outputting 50W instead of 35W. You could potentially have problems with not enough power being supplied and the 50W ballasts not working, or several other electrical related issues....

These would work the same regardless of 03-05 headlamps or 06+ headlamps.

@Spork: i was thinking about doing that, but i didnt want to spend that much money right now. The HID upgrade kits should only be a fraction of that cost.
@gregom: after more reasearch ive found the DDM Tuning 55 Watt HIDs. From what i found, they seem to be great.
@A-Town-Z: doesnt the 8000k come out more of a blueish-purple? i was thinkng of sticking with the 4300k, no more than 5000k. From what i see its the brightest and purest white you can get. Or does the fact that its 55watts modify the color of it some? Was it a clean "plug-n-play" kit or are there any modifications that need to be made? Lastly, different sources say our bulbs are D2R, some say D2S. which is correct?

I've heard good about the DDM... plus they are cheap I think so it's worth a try.
You'd have to do some research on the 50W HID systems... check out http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/. From what I recall the 50W will affect the color of standard 35W bulbs. If you use the bulbs supposedly designed for 50W, they will will be the color they are advertised as.
You won't find a clean plug and play kit, you're going to have to cut the two leads on the headlamp assembly to the ballast to power the 50's. That's where my concern comes in as to how the vehicles electrical system will respond to having to put 50W in stead of 35W, assuming they even will. I'm not really sure how the wiring in the Z works, ideally you would want to pull power directly from the battery with an external wiring harness.

so it seems it can definitely be done without any problems. I'm going to look to around to see if there are any guides to setup of this specific kit in or cars. but im probably going to order this friday (payday)
