Doesnt make sense how OEM would be better. Lenses are the same and its literally a piece of metal that cuts the light...

Was it hard to do the lens swap? Any modifications required to fit it in? Or was it just as easy as sliding the old one out and putting in the sti one?

I just got mine too, though I see no sealant over flow or paint chips in mine. It did come with a harness though. Is this harness for 03 or 06's? If I put in d2s bulbs will the high beams work? I currently have an 04.

For some reason I just can't make myself buy these. I have a local guy that will do mine for $180 with the sti lenses.. a buddy referred me to him and my friend is way ocd with his g37, if he trusts him I think I am okay letting him do mine

It was a simple swap. Undo 2 screws and place new lens in.

If you have oem hids it's plug and play and everything will work just need new d2s bulbs. I'm still using my oem ballast also

Can someone take a picture of the wiring harness that comes with this? Last time I tried to do a swap with 06-08 headlights on my 2004.5 the high beams did not work, blinkers & hazards flashed really fast, and signals were on like DRLS so I gave up. One connector was 6pin, one was 8pin (I dont exactly remember which was which, it's been awhile). Also do you use the current existing ballast with a new bulb? or do you have to buy an 06-08 ballast & bulb setup entirely?

I'm looking at the STI-R page right now and it has a 'Spacer tuning kit'. Did the swap require this for the depo headlights?

I didn't buy that option but when you order it from retrofit source it comes with these flat paper like ring spacers. The install instructions say to place the lens over that so that's what I did.

Great, was thinking about doing that too. Will probably just install them how they are for now and in a few weeks take them back off to do those mods to them.

wait, so did you actually place the ring and the flat pieces of paper or not? both your sentences contradict each other.

i just got my sti lenses and saw your previous photos but kinda surprised the cutoffs are not as crisp from the other photos i've seen. how far away did you have your car from the wall when you took those pics? do you get a sharper, more colorful spectrum when ur up close?

thanks for the pic.

so it looks like all you swap over is your hid ballast/igniter/bulb? all the other bulb sockets/wiring are included? (turn signal, side marker).

i'm coming from 03-05 NON-HID so just trying to figure out which parts exactly i'll need to source.

thanks!
