all you need to do is put aluminum tape on the inside. no biggie. nissan just puts more layers of paint on their parts.

It's not the horizontal lines people are talking about. It's the actual silver painted area of the shroud that has a thin layer of paint allowing light to shine through. Look at some of the first pics in the thread.

It's really not that big a deal if you're planning on opening your headlight swap lenses or install halos anyways.

$300 for depo's that need some modification vs $1500 for OEM is kind've a no brainer IMO.

hi so i wrote a few weeks ago to say i bought these and would be opening them up. i just got around to doing so and can say that my set was in excellent shape. i didnt have the excess glue everywhere like some reported and everything on the inside was flawless. now, the silver shroud with the horizontal lines on it......the paint isnt layered heavy like factory so that is the reason the light shines through. i put STi-R lenses on and am painting these to match the body so mine wont do that. i hope that helps anyone else wondering about that part

Depo head lights straight out of the box. No mods to them.
Using Phillips 85122 4300k bulbs from retrofitsource.

727FL350z, Do you plan on modding these? IE changing the color inside from gray to white? I have these on my ppw since I'm DONE fudging with my modded ones. But I miss the white in the housing.... Can't have my cake and eat it too....or something like that

I wasn't a fan of that but switch backs are cool. I bought 3156 turn signal bulbs so they wouldn't be on all the time. The 3156 wouldn't fit at first, had to pry off the edge a little and it went right in.

Nah I'm just going to keep them how they are. They look and perform awesome stock, I don't want to go through the trouble tearing them apart.

I honestly thing with the STI lenses on these they perform better than stock. The projectors on the DEPO ones seem more of a wide angle. I only have one ballast working but didn't know it until some one pointed it out. One light covers like a nice half circle around the front of the car. Plus the cutoff is as good too and I had OEM before these.

i'm more interested in the comparison between the 06-08 OEMs vs the Depos (with and w/o sti lenses) than the 03-05 oem hids. i'm actually going to do a side by side comparison as i have both when i have time.

I think your talking about the ground, definitely don't rip it. There is a screw holding it in

I ended up purchasing a set, but seems as if I have a problem with the cutoff. The left side is perfect and sharp, but the right seems to be curved up, doesn't look anything like the picture 727FL350z posted up earlier. Is it a problem with the bulb not being in the right spot?

Post a pic. Are you using d2s bulbs? If so what kind?

Thank you for replying! I am not sure if this is the ground or not but here is a picture of what I need to remove, it is circled in grey below. Any help again would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

these seem to have only the screws and taps holding the glass and housing together... if i want to put sti lenses, do i have to bake these open? or just remove the screws and un-tab the glass cover and housing, then i'll have access to the lense.
