well i wouldnt call it the worst.. im sure if i did this car in satin black again it would turn out amazing, but it would hide the body work weve tried so hard to do.. and it doesnt photograph very well either.
Either way, the fiberglass work and body work should be done by early next week... and plans were made for the new windsheild to be installed then.. this way i can leave it to pros to remove the a pillar covers outside.. and get the roof bonded to the roof.. we will be using windsheild urethane adhesive.
The hood is being trimmed out to fit the normal VQ plenum and strut bar etc now.

ill have some update pics tonight i think.
the car is getting the windshield replaced this afternoon.. so we should have the CF roof layed down by tonight as well.
Most of the body work is wrapped up aside from the rear bumper fog light.. and priming the whole kit still etc.

taps mic... is this thing on?
Tough crowd here lately lol.. are you not entertained?
So the fender braces interfere w the wire tuck and the main harness, so were going to have to redo that.. so these are on hold for now.

we still need to block and primer the JP bumper and finish the rear bumper.. ^^ ( you can see the front flare reshape here too)
but the roof piece and new windshield are in... same adhesive used for both... ie, windshield urethane... if it cracks or is destroyed and needs to be removed.. we can still cut it off if need be... but otherwise it is permanantely bonded to the roof as is.
everything is getting wrapped over.. im not going for tons of exposed carbon fiber here lol

That could get old quick. How bout just naming her like RWB does? I kinda always have a few inspiring names for my cars or a RWB Porsche if I ever get filthy rich
I love how the subtle car name on the side skirts looks. Like gloss black on matte black etc..

updates or items on the way and body work:
Rear bumper fog light area has been mostly completed...

the do luck diffuser mounts to those stanchions you see and hovers just below it.. we notched it a bit to allow the shape of the light to follow thru to that piece as well as keep the light unobstructed
the holes in the ridge across the top of that are were a bit messy, so we lined them up and made them bigger, but also then hadto go back and make the (now) super thin divions a bit thicker.. back to how they should have been.
Bought myself a new steering wheel.. a exclusive/limited edition Nardi Deep Corn in 350mm suede, called the "black edition".. as it has all black construction as well as stitching.. very cool imo. Should set off nicely w the ti bolt hardware.

Bought myself a new exhaust too.. no more HKS rep w frankenstein stich up to a reverse y pipe..
Tomei Expreem full ti.. opening the wastegate to open dump... routing the electric cut out after the downpipe (before the cat) out to the drivers side side skirt.

Also.. i had been wavering on retrofitting another brands diffuser under the car.. but couldnt find one suitably "functional" enough.. the TS GTR style is too short, too narrow, and the diffusewr section was barely wider than the license plate.. same with the RE Amemiya version for the FD..
What i did fin was a Garage Kagotani FD3RX7 diffuer that is a MONSTER...

I opted for the carbon fiber version vs the frp one:

and come to find out.. someone in japan just used one of these as well lol...with modification of course, similar to what i planned to do already.
This car is epic as hell btw.. found him on IG and contacted him then thru FB.. got Rajeet at Mastermind in touch and now Mastermind will be distributing Mercury EP parts when they become available.

This guy is in the same part of Tokyo as my friends at Stardast, Hachiogi.
Same deal.. small shop, outsource manufacturing of parts he made as custom one offs for himself. So dont expect to see these around all over the place.
Rear radiator, JZ engine-d drift mobile
so yeah, its been a good week for me
Also decided im going to need a trailer mobile, so Im looking at buying a bagged dually before the summer gets too hot.

The one ill likely pick up was Hans old shop truck at Intense anyways tbh..its a;lready a 6/8 drop w bag brackest .. but is running springs.
It already has some nice work and will have a complete refresh and new black paint prior to my purchase.. went and talked to my buddies at Grunion Cusomts here locally about what the 4 link and frame/bed floor chop will entail..
