Not that great of a muffler.. This thing was loud as HELL as a straight pipe while bejng fabbed..
So much better now tho.. The magnaflow can is a 4" in and out, only a 7" Dia body.. But the overall sound is much deeper and heavier. But still with the same midrange voice under load as always.
The firing pattern iasue/sound is still there, but I have more turbo whine now, combined with much more overall exhaust personality.. Sound clips to follow when the holidays are over and I can focus on getting this body done.
Oh btw.. Just got back from sema... I was offered a place at sema 2019.. So the car will be finished and displayed there for sure now.

Great, I saw you post that on IG. I mean it in the sense that open headers are louder than open turbo any day, but yeah I know what you mean. Everyone is different but generally more cylinders equal a better sound depending on what you like, one of the most memorable sounds to me was a Ferrari 360 with their 40v V8. I don't recall ever hearing pulses on a vq tho I don't like how they sound catless so that might be why. Overall my exhaust has 3 personalities IMO partial throttle sounds throaty and full throttle is deepish and not high pitched at all, doesn't actually sound like a vq at full throttle honestly.

This Z will be one of the highlights at SEMA for sure. My only quarrel is the finish, the paint. The car is so radical inside and out, I feel like it needs a paint color or scheme to calm it down so one can focus on all that's going on and not the paint. There's just too much badassness to take in. Chrome black comes to mind from top to bottom including the wheels. It'll look mean and the light will catch all the body lines.

I don't dislike the current paint scheme. It's different which is normally a + in my book. Guess I'm just used to uniformity and thinking people are gonna see it and their eyes are gonna cross because there's sooo much to look at. Can't wait to see it completed.

Happy new year n stuff I'm getting greyer by the day and this car is still haunting me
In effirt to truly call this car my lifetime. Swan song...ive thrown the book at the rest of it..
Picked up cjm bullet fuel rails, new id1050x r35 injectors, still. Waiting on his new cjm twin pump Design... And am shooting for a Link. Pnp ecu and an Aim mxs Strada dash here this month while I wait for my body guy to free up.
I'm going to totally reshape the side skirts and build the fender flare bottom half to the skirt.. Using foam and birch core materials and a combination of wet lay up and vacuum bagged carbon. Parts that I'll be making myself with a buddy.
Pics will follow of course. Right now, it's all just a pile of parts.

I think in the mean time, I'm just gojng to leave my aero motive 340 in the basket and use it as a lift pump, run a Radium surge tank, twin Bosch pumps and call it a day for now.
I bought cjm rails, a new set of R35 ID1050X injectors.. And am about to pick up a Link Ecu pnp standalone ecu, as well as either the AEM CD7 or the AIM MXS Strada Digital dash.
Most likely upping my spring rates to 18k 12k and adding helper springs as well..
Ordered a new gas pedal assembly as well in case the potentiometer is the reason for my spotty throttle response.
Car goes to the body shop in February.. Hopefully early Feb vs late.
Leave NO stone unturned.

Figured out the issues.. Fuel pump cavitation.. Ran lean on the dyno, lost fuel pressure.. Filled the tank, all was fine..
Car goes to the body shop in two weeks.. Time to finish up

Kind of sucks that this site is blocked on my work network after all these years.. Makes it hard to update this thread
How crazy.. After 3 years it was just a bad fuel pump, and then incorrect installation causing cavitation.... After thousands in needless parts, 3 whole years. And finally a 600 dollar diag job.. The fix is simply to keep the tank full... Smmfh..

Well.. I installed new id1050x injectors. Cjm fuel rails, and a new dw300c 340lph compact pump along w a new oem fuel pump basket assembly and rfs install.. And it's still droppi g fuel pressure under boost.
It's at dyno comp right now and he says he has some things he's found that's he's working on right now. I'll of course report back when it's figured out and properly tuned once again...
I wound up buying a new rear bumper to start with, as this one has really warped badly just sitting around for 2 years..
Once the tune is tackled. It will need the new springs installed Then the alignment and suspension returned and locked down..
I'll start fixing the fr and rear bumper fitment get moving on the foam to reshape the rear to the flares.. Install the diffuser wing element.. And get this bish done. I'm so over it...
You have no idea.. Truly. Lol

well would ya just look at that.. the site is magically unblocked again.. I can finally update this thread a bit >
SO ill start w the mundane news and pics and go form there up I have good news to post here.
Picked up a pre fab box.. its big... so I cut it in half... and now its perfect for my shallow sub, and will all be nearly instantly removable.. and.. it basically finishes my trunk for me in one shot.
Here it is hacked in half w new backing and some resin inside to seal it up.
Also, got my passenger seat installed and lined up properly now, no bends or rail misalignment.
A quick cardboard mock up of the very basic shape I will use to blend the bumper to the flares.
Side skirt cut line, blending the flare bottom into the skirt itself.

So.. here's the BIG NEWS.
I brought my car to Dyno Comp about a week ago for a retune after installing the injectors anf fuel rail and pump etc..
Issues found w the car:
driver side upstream o2 ( new) was baked due to routing location, installed new one w better fire sleeve and routing.
Passenger fuel line area gets very hot, added heat shielding and wrap.
Split o ring at the return siphon billet plug inside the fuel pump basket..
Bad ground in the factory connector on fuel pump upgraded to large gauge wire posts.
Combination of theses tow issues dumped/dropped fuel pressure under boost.
Waste gate banjo fitting threads stripped and loose.
Here is three years saga, culminated into what was a simple repair list.. a total retune and one very relieved owner, me.
This car was dyno'd initially in a hub dyno, and now on this mustang dyno, I still actually picked up power.
The car has a fantastic smooth idle, no more hick ups or pops or stumbles... MY FRIKN CAR QWORKS AGAIN FOLKS>
