Default 350z front plate

I live in California and i have a 2004 350zr, bought it used few years back. when i bought it, the front license place was not installed, the plate was in the trunk all the time. I see no mounting holes in front bumper so that means it never installed for 10 years, I've never have any problem with it even when i stopped next to the cops waiting for red lights. I just wonder if is there any member doesn't have front plate installed ever have any problem with cops? Should i just install it or just leave it. I personally think the car looks better without the front plate.

I just put it in the windshield. Been pulled over for a different reason once and the cop didn't say anything about it

i live in cali and i don't have the front plate on either, honestly its not something too big to be worried about. IF you do get pulled over for it its a fixing ticket and it runs around 30 bucks. **** it its just 30 bucks don't put it on lol.

^^^ It's ~$30 WITH proof that you fixed the problem... That's why it's called a "fix-it" ticket.

If you get pulled over and cited you'll have to mount it anyways and drive to a station depending on who pulled you over (CHP/city police/county sheriff/etc.) to get it inspected and signed off..

Why not just have one?

I plan on trying this out if I ever decide to put the front on.

Search around for the zee bracket. They don't make it anymore but you should find enough info to make your own.

It is a clamp on style device that goes in the grille to give you a place to mount the tag without poking holes in your bumper.

From my observations you should be ok depending on your area

I hardly ever park my cars on public streets or metered spaces so I can get away with it on the Z.

^ Same. It really depends on your area. I drive past a police station every day and pass multiple cops on the way to work, but I park in a private lot at work and they don't have any other reason to pull me over so they don't bother.

I live in Colorado and the state mandates front license plates. Besides getting hassled by the CHP on occasion, the biggest deterrent is the city of Denver. Parking anywhere in the Denver metro area has the city meter readers giving you a $45 ticket for not complying with this ordinance. It's just cheaper to tie wrap the plate holder and plate to my aerosync bumper...

I also live in CA. I have the one that just screws into the tow hitch as mentioned above. Never have used it though, just keep it in the trunk. If I ever get stopped, I'll just screw it in and take a picture of it in place if the cop did give me a ticket with him in the picture. And take it from there. But mostly it's not a problem. Palo Alto is a no place though, you get stopped there for anything, even tinted windows. If you watch next time you're on the road there are lots of cars and trucks with no front license plates of all types and models.

Socal here, dont have one. I live in a house and park in a garage. I mean it's a reason that cops can pin on you to pull you over just to hassle you but cops don't just pull you over for front plates. They're too busy with other crap why would they try to spend time writing a $30 ticket? If however, they felt like it can be an excuse to get you for something else like no cats, test pipes, DUI or whatever, then they can use that against you though.

Dont put it in the windshield youre gonna get a ticket if it's in there anyway it just attracts attention that it's not in the right place.

I would DEFINITELY have it on if I lived in urban LA. Downtown, West LA, Hollywood, Santa Monica, etc. Those parking enforcement ****ers write tickets for no front plates no matter what. I got so many ****in tickets in my college years. Suburbs I wouldn't worry about it if you have nothing to hide.

I made one with a second tow hook. Cut the hook part off and welded a "T" bracket on and drilled holes for the plate. Then just zip tied it to the holes. I can spin it off for shows an what not because MD cops will pull you over for no front plate

Think I have a factory one somewhere in the garage. Live in Oklahoma we don't need them here.
