Default Under Hood Sound Deadener?

Never really noticed this, but my Wife's 03 G35 coupe has a typical under hood guard that says " Advanced Front Midship" and my 04 Z track has nothing. Did the previous owner take it off or does the Z just not come with this piece? Just curious.
Here is a pic of the one on my Wife's G

The Z doesn't come with one, I thought the same thing when I bought my Z since I owned a G coupe earlier. Kinda wish it had one, looked nice when the hood was open, more of a finished look to it.

I think it's more for sound insulation that heat. Some people think engines make "noise".

+1 for sound, if anything that would only make the engine hotter?

As loud as the Z is, the impact would be insignificant.

Give me the lighter weight of the Z33s hood, as every ounce was shaved from it! The G35C on the other hand, is an Infiniti, and every step to reduce NVH fits the mold of that marque.

350's don't have e'm.The G hood insulator is just part of the overall
Infiniti program to have more of a luxury car.Other parts are baffles in the intake,
huge engine cover to quiet injector noise.
The 350 is more of a sportscar.
Infinti's future plan is to load e'm up with HP.Try to compete with the big guys.
They are a sponsor for the Red Bull F1 cars.
Honda can do it.Why can't Nissan?
