That's ridiculous. I don't understand why people take the time to just start **** with others on a forum. Maybe it's because they could never say the words they say on these forums in Person, so it makes them feel bigger than they really are. haha!

 

Just sent my money order to sluggoz. I can't wait to see how these new emblems turn out. I'm sure it will take less time than this thread has been going on!!

I've PM all of the "out of the country" z guys, most of them have ordered, some haven't replied yet and one said "no thanks". I'm taking their orders as an honorable order and they have agreed.
I have not received the emblem back from Terminator as of yet.

I have followed this thread with much interest. I am almost done with my version and should have them for sale in a week or so.
Mine will be offered on the classified thread or on ebay.

Where I think the problem is coming from is that Sluggo is making his offer in the wrong place.

There are three places to post this kind of offer on this forum according to the rules.

One would be inventor classifeds.
Here are the rules for that thread.

"If you don't have the inventor badge under your name then you cannot post in here. if you do you will get a warning and will be considered for banishment from the forums!"

Sluggo doesn't have an inventor badge. Doesnt sound like he invented anything. And from what I can gather from his posts, he is having Emblem Mart, emblemmajic or some other firm make the badges.

To post in the group buys, which is what this offer sounds like, he must meet these requirements.

1.) You must be a Z owner.

2.) You must be a participant. You must acquire the same item at the same time as the other buyers.

3.) Profit received must not exceed the value of one (1) item. You can make enough profit from the Group Buy to acquire your item at no cost.

4.) You may only offer the item once, repeat Group Buys are not permitted.

5.) You must post the group buy prices. If you do not post the prices, then the thread will be deleted.

6.) You cannot post about the group buy anywhere else.

7.) Only 1 group buy at a time from a user.

8.) You must post which vendor the parts are coming from.

9.) You must have at least 300 posts to start a group buy.

10.) You cannot start a group buy for a product if an existing group buy for the same product already eixsts, whether it be private or vendor.

11.) Group buys must be done within a month.

But he doesn't meet most of these either.

1. I believe he posted he doesn't even own a Z yet. (correct me if I am wrong) and his info on this forum states he does not have one (although he collects die cast cars - maybe he has a model)

2. I don't know if he is getting one or not.

3. Don't know his profit, but I am sure it is more than the price of one.

4. Meets this.

5. He posted the price, so he meets that.

6. He posted on at least one other forum, so he violated this technically.

7. He only has one buy I know of, so meets this.

8. He has not posted what vendor he is getting it from, to my knowledge. (Correct me if I am wrong).

9. He has 62 posts, which does not meet the requirement. Also, he joined the forum on February 21st, 2004, so it doesn't seem like he has been around here anyway very long.

10. Meets this.

11. Don't know if he meets this. Also, there is a legal limit on how long you can hold money for a product. Many computer and software manufacters ran afoul of this with taking money for vapor ware. They lost their shirts in the lawsuits.


Since Sluggo doesn't meet the requirements of the other two forums, looks like that just leaves the Private Classifieds. I don't see any real rules there, except no arguing. However, most of the people who post there have an item for sale if they are asking for money. Not an idea or a possibility.

Bottom line, I think Sluggo is bringing some heat upon himself for the odd offer.

The only people who appear to be taking a risk are the buyers - doesn't look like Sluggo is investing anything.

The people who are asking Jeff at Performance to put them on a list are the smart ones.

And finally, Sluggo, don't run away crying again like you did before. If you can rebutt anything I have written here, then do it in a logical, calm manner. Not like a child; like you did before. I have real problems taking people seriously who have the emotions of a 6 year old.

And Webiteks, although the poster on the other forum was unnecessarily sarcastic, he wasn't trying to hide or play some kind of trick. He just pointed out some obvious problems with the whole Sluggo thing. Sometimes the truth hurts. As for me, I post EXACTLY what I would say in person, so anyone who thinks they need to deal with me in person or thinks I am hiding, PM me and I will send my address to them. They can feel free to do or try anything they would like if they feel man enough. I stand by what I say, if I make a mistake, I am man enough to admit it. I cannot speak for anyone else, if they are hiding, if they would say it in person. etc.

 

I do wish Sluggo success for two reasons.

And had put it outside so the clearcoat sealer could dry, forgot it overnight, and tried to carry it in at 230 in the morning (just before leaving for work). Of course, I dropped it, so I had to redo it. The model should be done today, then I have to make the mold from it, let it dry completly, then do the first pour. After that drys, then polish and take a picture. So if school, work, homelife and wife (or kids) don't interfere, look at a first picture on more or less Friday. I have to get it done before Derby because they will make me work overtime after Derby and I will be (hopefully) pleasantly drunk and a winner at the Derby itself. So look for Friday or Saturday at the latest.

I will post the pictures on a new thread and will put the for sale ad first in the classified. I will wait a week before ebaying, and the price on ebay will be higher. So 350Z forum members will get a price break.

 

Please don't send me any money until I have an actual item to sell. That is the way I do business. I appreciate your comments.

 

In the name of free enterprise, I have already purchased one emblem from sluggoz, but I would also like to see yours and maybe purchase one from you also. This way I will have the two I originally wanted and also spread the wealth. Looking forward to seeing your prototype.

 

you seem like a reasonably person. Of course, mine will cost nothing to see. Looks like sluggo has a $40 price of admission.

 

I've been following this thread, and am relatively new to this forum, but I don't see anything wrong with having more than one person come up with something. I'm in for two, but if I have to pay for something before I see it, I'm not sure I am willing to do that. Sluggoz, when you have an image, I'd really like to see it. WOW....More aggravation...I'll try to make it very simple & professional. PLEASE go back and read pages 11 & 12 click on 9 and they 11 & 12.

1. I do not own a Z, in fact I just got back from the dealer about my roadster being on order. They switched plants for production and the suspension & convertible top problems are supposed to be fixed.

2. I'm new at this whole thread process. In fact as far as computers are concerned I'm still a novice. My son is the computer genius but he lives in Tenna. Just like I told webiteks at the very beginning and I never heard of "Courtesy"until I signed up to this forum.

3. This venture is new to me...So I made a mistake not to file for a badge..Yet I don't have a product. Let's face it ...I'm a newbie!!!! I'm still making mistakes.

4. When you guys go back and read the pages 11 & 12 you'll understand more clearly about the "competition thing".

5. gringott you said you would have pics posted by 4/7...bla,bla,bla but they never appeared and you never mentioned about any up-date. I know for a fact... you were browsing at least 4 times since your last post dated 4/1. I was keeping tract of who's browsing & etc. (especially gringott)

9. As far as the model cars are concerned..There are a lot of members who are very interested and I have posted my views & experience where to buy, what's available & etc. Just passing helpful threads to everyone.

I also thrived on winning and putting my competitors out of business.... especially if I'm "in the driver's seat" and have a far superior emblem.

To get captial, you get investors. Having people prepaid at a profit to you is not investors. Investors expect a portion of the profit, not the chance to buy a product. What if you don't get enough money or other things fall through? Are you going to pay them interest, money order fees, etc????

I feel no obligation to post when a delay or anything at all comes up. I have not taken a cent. All expenses so far have been borne totally by me.

As for your other statements, I owe you nothing, I never promised you nothing, and I have NO IDEA how you are proposing to do the project. I just know as A BUSINESSMAN that what you are doing is dodgy at best.

Maybe you are 100% legit and everything you say is true, I would prefer to think you are. However, if you were in business for 40 years, you must know better than what you have been doing. Try to remember how you started. Did you have your future customers pay you before you ever produced a thing or had a track record? Didn't you invest your own money, have an investor, or borrow the money? Think back and try to remember.

As for model cars, not having a Z, etc, it just all appeared to be strange. All involved in something you don't even have.
