That was funny! So, one of my first projects was to get the left headlight working. Bought an after market box to get the bulb to light. Well, found out later they are known to fail. Yep, it failed. What a piece of crap part. Used it maybe four times in 5 months and then it started going on and off. Put a used OEM one in yesterday. Works like a champ. Kinda a pain getting that headlight out, hope to not revisit that area of car any time soon.

My son and I went to a 1000 spot car meet in Houston last night. Finally a show that was not a bunch of guys like me in it. lol. DJ, food trucks, well organized. Police etc. really huge with lots of very cool cars. Mostly imports, but also Mustangs, Camaros, trucks, exotics etc. Almost no classic American Muscle etc. My son must of taken a thousand pics and videos. Will try and get some from him and share. Had a nice 350z there, actually several. He said it was the best show ever. We got there when it started at 7 and left around 10:45. The crazy thing is when we left there was still a line of cars trying to get in that was a 1/2 a mile or more long! They need to work on getting everyone into the facility, but I would say a success for the first time try at it.

Fun project with my son doing something he wants. Put a front lip on the bumper and a diffuser on back. Nothing too crazy and I think it came out pretty nice. The diffuser was needed a bit since the previous owner had gone to a single exhaust and a bumper tuck. When I converted it back to dual exhaust it was just showing to much of the exhaust system and this diffuser was a inexpensive solution to that for me.

Before and after.

Interesting.... have that same front spoiler doing nothing but waiting for someone to pick it up from me for $10 (or free with a set of wheels).... (And that box standing on the chair.... two rep Track spoilers. Anyone local want one?)

Looks very nice on your car! That diffuser is pretty nice too. Subtle, understated. What kind? (See a bunch on EBay that look similar, just curious.)

Yes, the ebay special was 70 dollars for the rear diffuser and I was looking for something subtle. Both the front lip and the diffuser came to me not stuffed in a box as I have read about a lot of these products. The front lip I ordered from a website to get a particular brand. The diffuser I painted as it was bit on the shiny side for me. Here is the link from Ebay on what I purchased. They just wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped it. It arrived in fine condition.

Might I just add that the 3m double sided tape sticks on to things like nobody's business.... On another topic, any way to drop the license plate down or to the side? The previous owner had zip tied it onto the grill to the left which was pretty sad way to mount it, but it did look better. I saw a lot of people at the car meet where they just stick it in the window on the passenger side. Any ideas are welcome.

If you look closely you should have 2 small dimples in your bumper cover. You can open those up with a 4mm drill bit and screw in on there, or you can find the adapter kit and screw it into your front tow hook. I believe that is a Stillen product also.

I am using the Stillen mount that uses the tow screw. No holes in the bumper. Which is a miracle after 15 years and three owners. With the Stillen it is fine, just looked better low and two the side. Rusty!?, tell me where you got that bracket? I am betting you made it...sigh. That looks much better. Maybe I can do something like that using the stillen hardware.
That car of yours is a work of Art. Love the way the rims match up with the paint job.
How often do you find a yellow 2005 350z being parted out? Not Often. I got a hold of some lower mud flaps and an OEM spoiler. The spoiler is too faded to use though. Sigh. Then I show it to my son and I am getting a thumbs down.

I went by the ACE to store to get some bolts today and the guys says, hmmm what are you working on? I tell him and ask why? He says, your are like the 10th guy in here looking for automotive bolts, must be the Virus effect. LOL

If you were closer I'd take the front splitter.

Put my son to work yesterday evening. He took off all the Volk Wheels and put on the Nissan Track V1 wheels. Kept him busy and he did it all by himself.

Then we took it out for a test drive.

Jim- you realize you're raising your son's expectations? He'll think ALL wheels are built from forged aluminum, and be shocked the first time he lifts a STEEL wheel in the real world!

Now that made me laugh! Never considered that. For the record, the tire and wheel combo was just at 10 lbs lighter per wheel than the 19" Volks. Once I get some better tires for the Track Rims I am looking froward to trying it out on the autocross. Michael drove yesterday evening as he had done the work. I took it out this evening and the car feels way more light on it's feet and nimble. The cheap tires it has on it right now have a lot less traction though. Looking forward to trying it out some more.

Rain day here in Texas. Changed out the radiator fluid and install yellow water hoses. Nice break from all the bad news out there. All went well. Put back on the Volks for now as the virus has caused me to hold off buying autocross tires for the OEM Track rims. Not much point at this time as they have been cancelling everything. Finding yellow hoses is not so simple! LOL. Found them on Ebay and shipped from China. They had a hose for the radiator to the overflow container, but the diameter was so much larger that it would not fit in the Plastics holders built on to the top of the radiator. Would have looked nice.
