In a situations with a pretty jacked up paint job on my 350z. The window seals are painted, side mirrors painted in areas it shouldn't be, wheels are even painted a little. Photos below show the horror. Is it best to just buy new of everything or can repainting them fix the issue? I would like a rough estimate if yall could provide as well to get it painted and fixed at a place like Maaco or something.
What kind of estimate are you trying to get here? A cost to repaint that POS paintjob? C'mon, really, how is anyone supposed to give you an estimate over the internet? Take it to a shop and get an estimate.
Personally, I'd get my money back on that and more for damages. Good gawd....
Mic- you're assuming the OP wasn't the one who re-painted their own Z! As he says, there's no practical way to provide an estimate in your part of the country.
Maybe something to consider is doing the hard parts that have overspray yourself. These can be removed and (using paint thinner and clay) stripped of all paint. The rubber seals and parts may need to be replaced. So the question is: how much sweat equity will the OP put into this project and how skilled are you? Beyond that, getting a low cost paint job may make this bad paint job even worse- the car should be stripped down to primer at the very least. Hate to see things happen like this- what the hell color paint job is that, anyway?

Assumptions or not, THAT is NOT a "paint job", that's a hack job.
OK, sorry to whoever painted it but if basics like taping off rubber (like seals; better to take 'em out of course), covering the wheels and other things not wanting to be "painted", that person has NO business holding a paint gun (or a can FTM). I'm sorry but that's just sh*t work. Take it to a shop with a reputation and let them sort it out. Or, as stated above, go to town with your paint remover, replace the painted rubber seals, do a proper prep sanding, glazing, masking, then paint. GRRRR....just ticks me off to see such shoddy results from so-called "workmanship".
Appreciate the replies. Car was given to me by my friend who no longer wanted it. We are both aware of how bad it is and was a trial and error for him. But now that it is mine, and I actually care about the paintjob, was wondering what's the best thing I can do to save this baby. Lots of sanding and replacing is what I am getting from this.

OK, not meant to offend but yeah, that's bad.
In any event, it's probably saveable. Just going to take a lot of prep work to get it ready for fresh paint.
Use non-caustic paint remover on plastics (lenses and such). As they say, test on small surfaces first.
Rubber seals should be replaced. You will not likely to be able to remove paint from them without harming the rubber.
Once you've got as much paint removed with chemicals then evaluate how much sanding is going to be required. Notice that very small areas need a lot of attention with what looks like either built up grime or possibly, rust. If the rust isn't too bad, you can use POR-15 Rust Remover to treat affected areas for surface rust. I went back and looked at the pics carefully.... much of the overspray appears to be on trim pieces. That's a good thing. Many plastic pieces are sourcable from yards specializing in Nissan. Buying all new pieces might be prohibitively costly.
Post a pic of the whole car... maybe it's not as bad as first thought. (Or maybe it is and that will just add time to the effort.) Any other bodywork done or is it just paint over paint?

Not too long ago, I just replaced the front bumper, so this how it looks now. With the same crappy paint job.
only a paint job was done to it. He showed me the car when he sanded all the paint off it, so I am assuming it is primer then that layer of pink paint.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say fixing this properly is out of the question, seals alone would be a lot of money since you would have to replace the A-pillars as well. On top of that the cost of a good paint job is around 6-8k, I'd suggest wrapping it in vinyl.
Well, the good news is that the body is pretty straight. OK, if you (OP) doesn't want to do the job and you're on a budget, take it over to Maaco and ask 'em "How much?" But be specific, tell them you want full prep, primer, 2-stage. That will give you some idea of what the total will be... that is, paint then if not now, eventually replace trims when good donor parts surface. I only say Maaco because we have one here that does a pretty decent job for a "budget paint job". Friend of mine, not a Z owner, took his BFT (big f'n truck) to them and $1600 later, pretty damn nice. Then he sold it for at least $2k more than he thought he'd get. They're not all like that though....
