what the weight of that vehicle? I bet it is really light!!!!

....and 1800 HP sound high to me.

I don't think the turbocharged Small block V8s that run in the Pro Mustang classes make much more power than 2000HP, but they have minimum weight restrictions for those classes.

u r telling that aluminium is gonna melt?

so then how come the forged pistons made of aluminium dont melt working under much more heat and pressure than the turbine wheel?

Aluminum has a melting point right around 1275F.Titaniums melting point is below 1200F.The reason aluiminum pistons dont typically melt (because they will melt under the right, or shall I say wrong conditions)is because of the fact that fuel acts as a cooling agent. Not enough fuel and bam, your aluminum pistons will melt away Since EGTS of most turbocharged cars will exceed 1400F...... using aluminum on the turbine side of the turbo is
not going to happen.

Its a good question. You are correct in that AL melts at roughly 1200 degrees. However, becuase of the thermal properties of AL, it will not melt in a combustion chamber, even with 1600 degree+ EGT's.

The reason for this revolves around the concept of specific heat: specific heat is the amount of heat per unit mass required to raise the temperature of a substance by one degree. In simple terms, AL has a very high specific heat, which means it takes a lot heat/energy to raise the temperature of AL. So even with 1600 degree EGT's, and the piston doing its job...of pulling heat away from the crown, and down through the skirt, it will never melt. The surface temp of the piston is likely much less than 1000 degrees. Also note that combustion occurs in pulses, and all that heat from the piston and cylinder is constantly being transfered to the block, and through the cooling system. And with the fuel, air, and oil acting as a cooling agent between power strokes, your engine is running very safe.

This is the reason AL doesnt melt, even with very high combustion chamber temps.

We need to get the results from the flow-bench before we put it on my car and dyno it.So it looks like sometime in early January is when we will have some results. We will still need to test it on an N/A car though.

Ok Fellas. We have been doing some flow bench work with this intake manifold and we got it to flow pretty good with a diverter plate. However, one bank is very turbulent so we sat there wondering what we could do about it and we came up with this idea. Scrap it! Yes we are scraping this design for a true dual plenum set-up. There will be two plenums now.One over each valve cover. They will be set-up for twin TBs or we can set it up for a single TB.The design s crazy and it is looking awesome.I will post some pictures in the next day or so.

With the twin TB's . Are you going to be able to retain the drive by wire ? or will you have to go to a cable throttle ?

My guess is it would have to go to cable throttle.

I wish we could have something like this.... even though it would probably never happen. Even with 2 TB if not individual.
