OK guys the install is complete. TN sent me sixteen 3" clamps instead of 10 2.5" clamps and six 3" clamps for the charge piping, so I had to go out and buy ten 2.5" hose clamps to be able to finish this project The car fought me to the end though, as I was installing the SPT fuel tap for the Defi FP guage the factory o-ring was pinched into place causing it to rip. So I had to run out and find some o-rings, again. As RedHotZ told me earlier I went to Advance auto parts and they actually had o-ring for fuel injectors there. I paid $9 for like 30 o-rings which included many different ones including the injector o-rings. I paid $8 each for those from Nissan--->lesson learned.

When I started the car the belts were squeeling, nothing 2 more minutes wouldnt fix. I also have had this plenum gasket out 2X now and I was worried about it leaking, and sure enough at idle a small hiss could be heard-damnit plenum leak. I took it out anyways, everything drove great, all the guages work, fuel pressure is at around 55-58psi, but because of the plenum leak Im assuming this is why Im not getting full boost. Im boosting 3-3.5psi max But even at this ridiculously low setting the car is much faster than the with bolt-ons. Im going to look into buying a plenum thermo gasket to cure this ASAP. The JIC exhaust is LOUD-I had a super loud set-up NA with the Injen and test-pipes and I didnt want a quiet turbo Z, this exhaust is perfect for me. Much deeper than the Injen and just as loud believe it or not but in a different bassier way, it sounds great-at least I think it does.

So overall I worked on the car Thursday night, Most of Friday and Saturday and finished up on Sunday. Scary thing happened after the first drive around as Im pulling into my driveway my car was smoking from under the hood BAD, I thought it was catching on fire Pop the hood to see the metal zip tie holding the heat wrap on downpipe 1 had come loose and th ewrap was dangling down. Im still not sure what was moking it was around that area nothing was leaking, and it eventually went away, I guess maybe some of the sticky wrap TN has yuu wrap the ac line with melted away or something, all is ok now. Anyways about 15 hours Id say of work to install the kit and guages. I had 2 great friends help me out, one of them stayed over Thursday to Sunday to help me get it done. I cannot explain what an awesome feeling it is to install your own kit, especially since I had never even done anything this big before. Ill post pics in a few....

BTW-having a small plenum leak would cause a small vacuum and def boost leak right? I hope that sealing the plenum off will give me the correct boost.

Here are 2 quick pics-Ill post some underhhod shots, fuel tap, and guage pics later. First pic everything is done but the fuel tap, and putting front end back on, second pic is myself and a friend finishing the install putting the front end back on. Third is self explanitory You can kinda see the mess of parts/tools everywhere....

No but I have my camera here with me, Ill snap a few for you. My camera died the batteries are charging so Ill post some in an hour or so.

I want to give a big thanks to MIA and Sharif. Mia for helping me giving me some tips on the install, and offering to overnight me injector o-rings, hes a nice guy and a great resource to the board.

Let me tell you guys what Sharif did for me. He sent my Defi boost guage like 1 week ago that my friend had ordered for me for X-Mas. Fed ex screwed up the delivery somehow and the Boost guage arrived back at Sharif's door on Thursday-a few days before finishing install. Instead of resending the guage Fed Ex and letting it arrive Monday or Tuesday(holding up the install) or charging me for an overnight Fed Ex Sat delivery, he went down the next day to his local USP office (who deliver on Sat anyways) and sent it overnight for a Saturday delivery-at his own expense. I received the guage very early Saturday morning right before we began to work on the car. Thanks again Sharif for the awesome customer service I just wanted to let everyboddy know what a nice thing you did for me, and Im sure you'd do for any of your customers

After speaking with Sharif and telling him my situation Ive pretty much ruled out the plenum leak. He told me all of his Crawford plenum FI cars have a small hiss coming from the passenger side, and I have no noticible loss of air under WOT. Simple look at the boost guage reveals 22 in/Hg which is healthy. Im going to double check the vacuum line running from the compressor housing to the wastegate to make sure its not pinched. Im sure its something stupid like that Ill keep you guys updated.

BTW MIA when you get a chance and you read this could you give me a call on my cell. I dont want to call you and wake you up you may be off today

Hey Alberto, Congrats on a successful install man. As for the boost issue, the line from the compressor to the WG is the pressure signal that opens the gate. If that line were pinched, you'd be overboosting, not underboosting. Assuming your gauge is reading accurately, you must have a boost leak somewhere (or an exhaust leak pre-turbo). Curious to hear what you find.

Hey Alberto check first thing the fitting on the BOV. Make sure its in the uppermost port. The port closest to the Turbonetics logo at the top. If its not that it has to be either the plenum gasket or one of the couplers. Go over EVERY tbolt again. The guy whos car I helped work on here ended up having on of his boost pipes come loose because I tightened the T bolt on the bead roll and not under it. Theres a leak somewhere for sure. The vacuum lines should go like this:

Line from compressor fitting to lower port of the wastegate (furthest from logo)
Line from plenum to upper port on BOV (Closest to the logo)
Be especially cautious of the tbolt on the MAF. People tend to under tighten this one for fear of cracking the MAF housing. I'm sure you will find it on one of the couplers. Double check the the intercooler couplers too.

Thanks Kelly. Great info here, I didnt realize that would cause overboosting but its great that I know this. Ill recheck all charge pipes later, and let you know what I found.

I got it from Steve @ Evolution. I wont say the price, but I will say I got the full Titanium exhaust for a few $$$ more than what I see the Nismo exhaust going for. To me it was a steal....
