Do you think this latest water loss is to do with temps? or head lift?

Is there any carbon in the water?

i'm guessing it to be mostly due to the heat. i still have the stock radiator and no aftermarket oil cooler. i started to really drive my car near the end of last summer, and the temps around here were not that high, so i never had probs. but in this 90-100 degree weather, it is very apparent now i need to do all the cooling mods i can think of. i'm currently looking at custom 3" thick rads that i will custom fit, with very large multiple push fans (5000-6000cfm!!)
before i put these studs in the motor, even at 60 degrees, i was running out of water every 100 miles or less without even being able to get into boost. so having to add a little water over about 600 miles now and hot temps and hammering on it too, shows it is definately helping. my head gasket seal was already compromised badly before installing these. someone building a fresh motor or bairily seeing combustion leak issues will get very good outcomes with this mod.
again, this is not designed to completely eliminate the issues of "head lift" from happening, this is just to help strengthen the weakest link i feel is helping create it.

Didn't get mine, and I'm in the middle of the country. What carrier did you use?

If they don't come tomorrow I'm gonna say "*** it" and put my motor back together as is.

Smile Got mine. :)

Scott:

Thank's the kit arrived today. I see what you mean about the "Odd" thread.

The instructions are crystal clear.

Use the existing washer on the plug, and the copper washer provided in the kit. Got you !

Cheers Amy -

ya, the thread pitch is odd. this stuff is made in germany!!

only remove one plug at a time and you will lose no water. well as long as the rad cap is closed, lol. went over that in the instructions.

Got mine thursday. One question. After you torque the bolts in how much do you torque the nut down? Same as the bolt?

they are in there very tightly. they lock due to the seal they make with the stainless sealing washer. if you are using the perfect size allen wrench, you should have no prob. but yes they are in tight and no they are not left hand thread. if you are using a allen socket for a 3/8" drive, it would be way easier.

i used a figure of 1/8th turn after touching bottom on the stud. this is basically to clear the rough sand casting and create a more solid seating surface. the large nut gets torqued to 50ft lbs and is a 1 1/16" socket iirc.
