Help on driving with a turbo.
I'll tell you this: If you start going high horsepower you want to upgrade the wastegates. I got new wastegate springs and I was still boost creeping getting anywhere from 570-620 whp. Now I'm tuned down to a conservative 489whp
Should've went open wastegates but I guess that'll be a winter project.

IS THERE A SINGLE ******* SUCCESS STORY WITH BOOSTING A 5AT CAR???!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!
Your tranny setup is identical to what I have planned, except that I will go an extra step and add a tranny temp gauge, just in case.
Where did you mount the cooler anyway?
Also, how long have you been driving with this setup?

Thank you. Waiting for the pics.
i dotn think you guys are explaining it correctly... boosting has to do with load...more load = more boost, hence you only boost when you put the hammer down.,, otherwise you will be runnin a vacuum
The most important answer to this question (about allowed time to boost consistantly) will come from your gauges...
watch your EGT's..they will climb rapidly as you boost, if they start to pass 1600 degrees F, you are about to melt your pistons...so cool it
watch your A/F...make sure that you are not leaning out-everyone will have their opinion on what is too lean, I never like to see 12:1 or leaner..keep it in the 11:1's when in boost (unless you have methanol/water injection- in that case you can run even leaner)
These kits will operate great and the motor should stay in one piece if it is tuned carefully, that is the key!!! make sure that it is not only tuned in WOT ..make sure that the tuner runs the car on the street to "street tune" under many different throttle positions and load to ensure safety..a big mistake people make is go 100% throttle on the dyno, get it perfect... then never check the car on the street or do ANY street fine tuniing at all...

How did it feel like when you lost your viginity...
it should feel something similar
I've owned 3 turbo cars. Miss it to death.
Can't wait till I go FI with the Z
