And if what mr. Blake has posted is not enough, you may always put a huge interfooler in front of it.

I have posted this in a couple other threads too but I though everyone should see.
I just spoke to Dynocomp here in Phoenix, they are an APS dealer. They told me they have stopped selling the ST kits because they have had quite a few problems with them. He also said he believes that the price drop is because they are going to discontinue them.

Sometimes when installers run into difficulties with a kit or part, they go path of least resistance. meaning they tell people the kit is trash. my installer might have had problems installing the kit but I paid for in the end . it might have been at little more expensive install-wise because the kit was not a bolt on affair, but my kit runs strong and i am completely satisfied. if they are discontinuing the kit, that sux, but it still is a great price point.

Please don't get my wrong, I am not trying to talk $hit about this kit. I think APS builds great stuff and the reason I was calling was to ask about having them take off my SC and put this kit on.

Only APS knows if they are going to discontinue it. Also don't take what one place says to be fact. This kit has shown to be great for many people.

I wish I would have gotten more details now. What he told me was they had had quite a few problems with the installation and it was taking almost as long as the TT kits to install. He said the kit was not very high quality and was not made the same standards that APS builds their other kits to; it is mediocre. It was made to be an entry level system and not working out for them. I asked about the price drop and he said that he believes that APS lowered the price to move out their existing inventory so they could discontinue it.
Again I am not trying to make anyone mad or offend anyone. I just thought this would be interesting news coming from an APS dealer.

Complete BS. I have personally installed both kits with my two hands and both are of equivalent quality. I agree it is an entry level FI system, but not in terms of quality or completeness, but because of mass air flow and price point vs their other offerings.

The install on the twins is SIGNIFICANTLY more complex and time consuming. The single should be installed EASILY in 10+ hrs less time than the twins. An example of something fairly time consuming on the twins that the single does not have are a lot of studs that need to be set in the engine block as well as the turbo housings. Also just consider mounting up two turbos in limited space vs one.

As far as discontinuing the kits, well, I hope you all do realize that at somepoint every kit APS or any other manufacturer puts out there will be discontinued. That said, I feel APS is trying to peak some interest in this somewhat overlooked setup. They might lure those on the fence into buying the kit by making it a bit more attractive.

For this price, the setup cannot be touched by anything out there. Bang for the buck exceeds any other offering APS has or any that of any other manufacturer IMHO.

Thank you. I was hoping that that guy was full of it and it is nice to hear from someone who has first hand experience with both kits. It sure seems like the only problems I have seen with it were when it first came out and they have been corrected by APS.
