Default 2004 Z auto tranny with turbo?

I just sold my 2006 EVO IX MR. I'm thinking to buy 2004 Z with auto tranny.

1- Is the Auto tranny handle aps single turbo kit ?

2- Which one is comfortable, turbo or supercharger?

I want 380-400 whp...My friends advice me vortech supercharger. But I like turbocharged car... What am I going to do now ... I dont know ...

thanks aLL

considering that it's auto, I would go supercharger although I have seen many twin turbo kits on auto cars and they hold up fine...have yet to see a single turbo with auto

you would need to upgrade the auto tranny with an upgraded torque converter to hold the extra torque

Also you might want to do a valve body upgrade.

Just curious, why did you decide to sell your MR and go for a Z?

Yeah, curious too. And it's a 2006, wouldn't that be a big loss?

Unless you have leg problems or cannot drive a stick I would get the 6MT. You do not have as many options with auto as you do manual. I bought an auto thinking my wife was going to drive the car which she doesnt. But with my knee acting up now I think it was a good choice.

There are turbo and SC kits you can get with auto you are just limited in the amount of boost that you can apply.

IF you are looking to turbocharge a car. The Evo is a wonderful option because it has so many capabilities. Honestly, you can get an evo up to the 400whp range with as little as 2-3grand. On a Z all that will probably end up being how much you spend on just installation. You need to figure out exactly what it is you want. If you want an auto car, but are looking to turbocharge..Consider what all your options are. When you say you want to buy a Z and turbo it, you are easily looking at around 30k and keep in mind that you may not be able to finance the car for the complete 30k.

Seems like you need to do some research and decide exactly what it is you want, and what you are looking for. The Z is an awesome car!! I love it and hope i never have to sell mine! However, if i could have afforded a supra 3 years ago i would have definitely bought one of those. The Z is fun but expensive to mod if you are looking to get big numbers.

I have a AT Z with the greddy twins So far (knock on wood) the tranny is holding real nice my only problem is that it wont shift at WOT in 1-2 but half throttle off the line it will shift and im making around 450 rwhp give or take. My AT tranny is fully OEM no upgrades tot it. Also my car is not a daily driver so maybe that also helps. BTW my car is at 10 pounds hope this helps.

356 whp on a Mustang Dyno translates close to 390's whp on a Dynojet. I also have the TN CAT version so you should gain more w/o one.

That is a question you do not want to ask. I hate saying use the search button but a supercharger owner I learned about the SC not only through this website but by searching the Internet. Do a little more research and draw your own conclusion.
