I dont know how many of you guys have the ARC catch can, but Im trying to reroute the mist/vapor coming from the breather at the top.
When I smelled the "smoke" coming out, it smelled like it was part fuel mixture, so is it?

Where can I vent this **** to?

Oh, and doesn anyone know the size of the threading in the breather? TIA

 

not flammable. It just smells like emissions!

 

It will have petroleum product in it....oil and unburned fuel....so it will burn if you apply a flame source.

 

i doubt it.......you'll need to add gas to it.

It is were that flammable, it would significantly alter the tuning needs of the car when the gases are getting recirculated into the air stream.

 

Do you guys know the size of the threads on the breather?
If not I may just tap a small hole into the left side of the catch can and make my own nipple like AAM does. I wish I could add steel wool to this thing, even though its baffled it doesnt work very well.....

There is unburn fuel, oil and other blow-by product in that stream. In theory, it is flammable, but it would be unlikely to actually ignite unless you plan to vent in directly onto your manifold or turbine housing.

I think you'll be ok just venting it downward to the atmosphere...we do it all the time.

well, I looked at the arc for a good time today, I believe the threads on the breather, and the 2 bolts holding the clear tube are all M10: 1.0 bolts. I also realized that the ARC catch can is not really baffled. It is a single chamber, with a plate right in front of the main opening, and the breather has a small chamber if its own. Unfortunatly, the small baffle at the very beggining has an opening at the top which leads right to the breather, this is what you dont want happening becuase a large amount of vapor will just go straight to the breather and out.

So I blocked the breather, added a bunch of steel wool, and rerouted the clear tube on the side of the arc that shows the oil level, and routed it back to the plenum.

Sorry to say but the ARC DOES NOT WORK WELL, i think aam's modified arc is just like mine minus the steel wool.
