I guess I think of load as measure of mass, not pressure. In context of UTEC, fair enough. So, while we're on subject of UTEC, getting the temp correction ends up being very important if you're in SD mode.

lol.. did he research about other good benefit like cooler IAT, Lower EGT, higher detonation resistance, can run higher boost, more timing, cleaner engine.....etc.

I'm addicted to meth too!!! My local shop just landed a VP contract so they sell everything and I just bought a 5 gallon VP Methanol. I'll do my own mix but I found out that you have to mix meth/water by weight and not volume. It is the consistency of the mix that really matters, I found this if you're looking to make 1 gallon of 50/50 mix by volume, you need .44 gallons water and .56 gallons meth (1.67 L water and 2.12 L methanol). I'll probably just mix 40/60 mix (Meth/Water) and I'll get that if I mix 50/50 by volume.

why so much hassle with mixing it on your own, boost juices is pretty cheap. $25 for 4 gallons.

Plus shipping around $30... trust me, I did call around but there is no local place that sell them so it will cost me around $60 for 4 gallon with shipping. Right now I'm using Prestone De-icer -34F Windshield Washer and that has around 30%-40% meth but it also has Ethyl Glycol which is detergent that I don't want (Most Windshield Washer has Glycol). My friend has been using them for 2 years though without a problem and very easy to get. It not that hard to mix since I'm going for 40% meth so I'll just mix 50/50 of each and I'll have control over the consistency of my mix.

good info I mixed mine by volume not weight. How do you like your kit do far?

I would of bought boost juice also, but I caught a deal on 5 gal of meth.

I sold my Varicool and tried one of my local shop's own progressive water/meth kit. I just did my first 2 gallon mix but my tank still has 90% of the old windshield washer fluid so I won't know until I have used them. I'm using my windshield washer reservoir so it is hard to empty the tank At least my windshield washer light will come on when I'm out of mix... before the meth I'm a little conservative so I like my A/F around 11.0 - 11.2 but now I'm confident running 11.4-11.6 and yet to see a knock even adding 1 deg of timing.

I know Sharif did one Snow Kit and he mounted it in the back, search for it. He said he didn't have to use an extra solenoid but when I tried to call Snow about it, Snow said an extra Solenoid is a must if you are doing a trunk mount. You want the reservoir higher than the pump so that the fluid can flow easily towards the pump. The fluid should be gravity fed to the pump with the Snow Kit.

I'm new to water/meth but I'd like som opinions on my plan.

I'm running a Nitrous 100 shot on a stock block. I'm using Uprev Osiris for ECU Management.

If i was to run straight water injection activated at the same time as my window switch, would that help me in not having to remove timing while on the spray?

I don't want to run two maps, one NA, one Nitrous w/ Timing removed. So I figured this might be good alternative.

Also I could just slap the kit onto my existing tune (so to speak). Straight water won't affect the AF/R correct?

meth and nitrous go great together...water alone may not solve your issues of timing...also depends on what type of shot you are doing...a wet shot is already adding a bunch of fuel so then the meth on top of it won't do all that much help unless your car is running ouf of fuel since you are maxing out your injectors...

Thanks mate. I'm running a wet shot. So your saying the meth wouldn't help me much with a wet shot?

I spoke to snow performance today and they seemed to think at that power level the 50/50 mix of water/meth would not really be enough to throw the AF/R off too much.

What else do I need to buy to run straight distilled water with this basic kit? Im looking for just some cooling ability on my current tune.

Novice question here but heck I hope someone can have some patience. I have a Greddy TT managed by the HKS Fcon Vpro tuned at GTM. Pushing 410 rwhp more or less.

I have been considering this mod for the longest time. Being a novice at modifications on a car (like I always say) i have a ton of newbie type questions.

1) Would this necessarily increase Hp numbers? Or is it just colling?
2) Should I not do this until I get a build? Im on the stock block.
3) What else is needed to run this other than the kit itself?

I have been saving to get the GTM Exedy flywheel/clutch combo for the longest time and some rims but I can replace the rims for this meth kit if its appropriate.

Anyones help would be beneficial.

For those who are going to say read all the posts first, I HAVE. I just get overwhelmed with all this info and how it pertains to me, especially when I have limited mechanical knowledge and this is my first car to modify ever.

Thanks guys.

You won't see much of an WHP increase unless you raise your boost or add more timing on your tune. Meth allows you to boost a littler higher or have an aggressive tune (Just like running race gas without the cooling effect). Yes, meth will lower your IAT, EGT and increase resistance to detonation so that is the safety part. I think if you have a stock motor then it is nice to have, it is going to help you more to be on the safe side just in case you get some Bad Gas or in a Hot Summer days. Just my 02.
