Is methanol injection any usefull in N/A applications where timing is advanced for a short period of time? (i.e. race gas map for quarter mile or autoX)

Yeah,

Here you go, I just ordered this kit today for use with my Vortech kit... I am planning on going to the 2.87 pulley w/ AAM Return fuel, Walbro, 550 inj's, and a Utec...

http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=8

What do you think about these kits? Flow adjusts accordingly to boost pressure.

Thanks.

Snow makes great stuff and I am looking to bring their backing to this forum via me, I wanted to feel out the forum as I have been a member for a long time (under the OCD name) and this seems to be a great forum...

Will I have to get my car re-tuned if I install a Water/Meth kit myself since I have a TT car? Thanks.

with any injection kit you need to retune it as it completely changes the afrs...

You also have to run the meth 100% of the time on the new tune. It is wise to have a EMS system that has more than one map and a selector switch to change between maps for daily driving and for heavy foot days as you will go thru meth in 1/2 - 3/4 a tank of gas with a smaller resivior and you can get 1 - 1.5 tanks with a larger res.

I believe the Utec has this ability, I am looking into the Utec for my EMS.

yea meth injection is like getting tuned for race gas in that sense, totally different afrs, timing, etc...the UTEC is a great tool for this venue and can even be used to control the kit...I am not sure if they released the firmware with the ability to have progressive control over it but I know that feature was in the works...

I know it is set to boost, so as your boost increases the spray increases if that is what you are talking about... They also have a set-up that if you run out of meth it will pull timing to put you in a safe zone.

http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=13

Here is a link to that.

Yeah, I did not order that today... I need to get that soon. I do not plan on ever letting my res get below 1/4 until I get that installed as well...

It will work on a Vortech SC set up as well as on a Turbo correct? On turbo it lowers boost and on SC it pulls timing?

Thanks.

Devil, I just noticed you have the Zeitronix as well... Love that wideband

wut about water injection? would u hav 2 run that the entire time? that $hits getting rare these days.

on a serious note tho, would u hav 2 run the water injection the entire time ur driving? i read an article in import tuner about the water injection kit froom snow performance. they did it on a supercharged nsx. made pretty nice gains, and cooled it own quite a bit.

basically the unit sends a 12v signal when a drop in flow is detected, this signal can be interpreted to lower boost, lower timing, change maps etc, whatever what you wire it, when your ready let me know and I can help devise a way for you to hook it up with your SC...

yea thats the same deal, plus with water injection you have to watch out for cylinder wash and I highly suggest running atleast 50% methanol to help avoid this...yea injection cools the IAT tremendously...on my evo I would run the same exact trap speeds no matter what the temp was out side, always 122-124 depending on the launch...
