Vas- My belt size is around 80" so i'm pretty sure you will need shorter than that. I would say start with couple of inch shorter. I think belt size might can be change depends on how your belt setup. Well good luck!

Edit: Dave, sorry about delay on shipping, but sent you track number it's thru UPS. And i just checked and scheduled on this friday

you too chef!

Dave went to look for the part number in his belt, because he has the same setup up ( 2.87 and gtm pulley ) but the number was faded away

chef- are you running 79.5?

Default Split Second tune that comes with full kit?

How good is the tune that comes on the split second box with the Vortech full kit (staying with the 3.33" pulley of course?)

I would like my tune to be a little conservative and from the searching i've done in the forums you can get a little more whp out of the stock tune. So then staying with the stock tune would be a little conservative, right?

Thanks for your input.

I just finished my install today. 2.87, gtm pulley with a 79 inch belt, I only hit 351 whp on a mastang dyno with 12psi. The car keep dying out in front of almost every stop light I think I have to go nissan to do something with the idle

If u have big injectors and utec, bump the idle won't help that much. Number seems little bit low wit 2.87 pully and 12psi?, even its on mustang dyno. You sure u have a 2.87 pully? I don't know but I'm using 80 something inch belt on my setup.

Store guy told me I had 79.5 inch when he looked my old belt. And I think I have 80 and half now. When I compare that two belts, I don't think I had 79.5 inch. It look almost same size. Well I can get u my belt part number later, that way you can start with shorter than my belt.

its no biggie chef. I got a belt from autozone. about an inch / half inch shorter than the 3.12 belt. I think it should be fine. worst case ill just go back and pic another one.

one question though.

I plan to drive the car to AAM. Should I install the pulley belt and just leave the cog belt out? would i be fine/ safe driving it down there? or do I have to leave both belts out?

Im guessing I still need to load the basemap in the utec since the injectors are now 600, correct?

Yes on all counts...you will be safe, assuming you have very little other aftermarket engine mods (like headers, exhaust etc..)...the base tune is for a stock engine...

This is all of course dependent on the current condition of your engine, and the correct installation of the Vortech...

you dont even really need a base map. I drove my car for over 300 miles with on only the stock ECU with 600cc injectors and no cog belt when my utec died.

either way, it wont matter.
