vortech FAQ: read this before asking vortech questions
next weekend i'm heading home to indiana so if i remember i'll get the part number off my box.
idk about the filter. the only thing i can think of is the "sock" on the basket. It's not really a filter since it's very porous. I never changed mine.

Good luck
That's not a bad deal then. I think the o-ring from napa was around 12 or 14$ so your 15$ plus shipping for a kit with other stuff in it is pretty decent. what other stuff comes in that kit?
I'm heading home next weekend to put my RFS in so hopefully the bosch oring i have in now doesn't go crazy on me and i can reuse it.
I never understood how they can make orings that sit down in gasoline and not have a problem yet that oring can't handle gasoline. You would think they would make that oring out of gasoline resistant material.
Thanx for all the help here and given personnally on this install. I have a concern about my oil drain line. it ends at my oversized oil pan with an adapter that shrinks from 3/8 to 14 inch and want to know if this is a potential problem with the gravity drain. Thanx
1/4 internal diameter? Thats pretty small.
what return are you using? Oil pan spacers have -8an ports on them which is 1/2".
If you are returning above the oil line, then it might be ok, but if its returning below the oil line, i wouldnt do it.

1/4" internal diameter is pretty small. I would probably drill it out and use at least 3/8" NPT for the drain.
Gentlemen I have a question regarding my next upgrade. What would you recommend? I want to make more power of course, but I want to do it safely. Very safely. I was considering a water/meth kit OR maybe some nismo headers. But, after reading as much as I have I am now considering maybe a UTEC and a return fuel system may be the better investment. The safer route. Was also considering the T-Trim blower. Saw one go on ebay the other day for 700$ Any advice would be great. Thankx in advance

good to hear its moving forward. too bad you couldnt get the utec dialed in. For a supercharger, a good UPrev tune should be fine. You'll need that HPX MAF sensor though. I was maxing out my stock MAF sensor at 4500 rpms with that setup.
Luckily the tuner i am going to stocks them ...but he reckons i wont max out....but if i do then it wont be an issue with just dropping it in.
At the moment i have it running on a map off turboxs and i can really feel the power....just dont want to push it hard until its tuned up...
My main reason to go with uprev is so i can let it control everything and not have to worry about cell lights putting the car into high det....with the uprev the cells can be turned off......and at the moment i have cells on which i feel if i were to tune it now on the utec i will have a constant battle against cell lights

well, honestly meth will lower intake temps and increase octane but that doesn't really mean it will make the car "safer". It also wo'nt increase the power unless you take advantage of that octane by increasing the timing and adjusting the tune further.
i would be careful of 700$ t-trim blowers. They are 3200$ from vortech for a reason. 700$ used ones will probably be in bad shape. They are also probably from a mustang which depending on the year could be the incorrect blower. I think the early 90's and the 05 and newer are the same but the other years have something different about them.
headers would be a nice addition due to the decrease in exhaust bottleneck. FI loves more flow in any direction. Be prepared for a hell of a time though. Headers are so far the worst thing i've had to install on my car. I would pull the engine again before changing out my headers, lol.
