vortech FAQ: read this before asking vortech questions
Hey what are you typical oil pressure readings on idle and lets say crusing at 80mph on 6sp?
I am trying to figure out if my defi oil pressure gauge took a crap on me. I used to idle at 25psi, 80mph at 60psi, now I'm reading 35-40 idle, 80mph at 80 ???
(Quick list of mods that might affect readings: v2, 3.12 pulley, non-rev up, 5/16 spacer, art pipes, hks hi-power, setrab 19 row cooler with thermostatic plate).

yeap jrob sounds like my issue, I live in palm springs so it gets really hot during summer. here did u took it to get the fluid change?? I don't wanna do it myself cause I hear it's a PIA to bleed it.

Never changed mine. Problem went away and a build with new clutch isn't all that far away so I will catch it then. Plus the car is seldom driven. Don't see why it would be that hard to bleed.
If bleeding the Z clutch is a challenge I would wonder how some people get thru life... Very easy to do and doesn't take very long.

At 180* oil temp mine is around 25 at idle and 60psi 70mph 6th gear. Going from 25 up to 35 wouldn't make me think blockage though. That sounds like colder oil or a thicker oil. Maybe 10-40 instead of 10-30 was put in the car.
Could be a blockage. It will vary with oil viscosity. If a thicker oil was used or the oil isn't as warm then the pressure will be higher.

I know cobb accessport used to be a hot item but i'm not sure how many tuners there are anymore. It kind of fell off the face of the earth. If you can adjust fuel and timing then it should work ok. Might not be the best thing but all you really need is fuel and timing.
Been reading up on this a little bit. Have some questions about my set up. Right now im running dw 600 and 255 fp. Im running the 2.87 wheel on my v2 tune by Uprev. I put down 418/352 @11psi on uprevs dyno. I have test pipes with hks replica exhaust. I just recently received my si upgrade from vortech. I was wanting to run a boost limiter valve with the 2.87 wheel to bleed off extra boost. My block is all stock. I was pretty happy with the power before, so the main reason for upgrading to the si was to bring in power a little sooner. Now after seeing unvmyg35 signature and dynos, i know that the stock 3.33 pulley is more than enough power for stock block. Would it be wise to keep the 2.87 with a BLV to bleed off boost or to maybe pulley up to the 3.12 or 3.33. Im also thinking about ugrading the stock fmic from vortech for something bigger. Not really sure which way to go on this. I did buy some 750 rc injectors hoping these will be efficient enough. Any input is welcome, car is currently at the shop right now waiting for some space to free up to start messing with my car.

Sup Meanz, I have to update on my build thread & signature. I just switched out my FI HFC's to ART Test Pipes because I blew them out. Since I was going to need a retune, I decided to drop the 3.33 pulley and go with the 3.25 pulley from Vortech. I picked up some decent gains but dropped 1pt in boost because of the ART's. I can definitely feel the difference! I'm at 443/379 SAE and 454/389 STD chart I will post dyno chart in my tread later this evening. I'm still waiting on the overlay chart to see my gains through out the curve.
Tuner advised to stay away from the 3.12 pulley because he didn't feel it was safe on a stock block.
I hope this helps.

as for injectors, walbro 255 will run out right at the 600cc injectors will so using larger injectors won't help you much without replacing the pump. What was your duty cycle on the injectors you have? I think for stock block power you should be ok with the 600's. Even if the duty cycle is high at the very end of the RPM range you wo'nt be in that area much time (miliseconds at a time doing pulls) so it won't hurt the injectors to run high duty cycle for short times like that.
str8dum1, one of the reasons for the BLV was so i didnt have to wait till redline to see max boost/power if i kept a smaller pulley on. Kinda hoping to make a little more power then i already had and just carry that to the end.
unvgmy35, the results you gained with the 3.25 is exactly what i was looking to get. What kind of boost pressure are you seeing with that pulley? Where is your fuel cut off?
Binder, you dont think that the 2.87 pulley might be to much for my stock block? Last year at uprev Omar said we could have gotten a little bit more out of my set up but the fuel was the limiting factor. We did 1 run to about 7100rpm, hit 14psi just to see if it would make power and he said the duty cycyle was around 95% so we left it at the stock redline. I think i might just pulley up to the 3.25 and see how it goes from there. I got the 750rc injectors just incase i might need them, if not i will just resell them. If needed it would be no prob to upgrade the fuel pump or possibly add a stage 0 return kit.

i do search..Its just not to many people go with the si upgrade and the 2.87. Unless im not searching right. The internet is so slow most of the time that my web browser usually times out when trying to look up info. Correct me if im wrong oldmanz, but didnt you street tune your car yourself? Have you dynoed your current setup. Im really not trying to go over the 380trq mark. Im starting to think about putting the 3.12 pulley on and calling it a day.
Im now seeing 10.6psi @ 6600rpm. Lost 1psi with the Art tp's. Updated my build thread with a new dyno chart.
