^ you can tap the bracket while its on the car.
go with the 3.12 pulley. i just went through this with my tuner.
Some advice needed
-------------------------------
Currently running a 2.87 pulley which makes me 420whp @n 12psi on orisis. The tuner is holding the power back too as my car just wants to keep making power. I am running Str8dum1's old kit which is an SI trim impeller and 600cc injectors with a return to tank fuel system
So having lived with the car for about 1 month in its current state i am looking to get a bigger pulley and reduce the boost to get better fuel consumption and less power to achieve a more reliable car.
Do i keep my belt and get a 3.12 pulley or do i get a new belt and a 3.33 pulley?
I am pretty sure if i dropped to a 3.33 pulley my tuner could still get me 380whp which would be perfect. But if you guys think that's not achievable then maybe i should go for a 3.12 pulley

My kit was an older kit that still had the 90"+ belt and i switched to the new vortech kit. I was never supplied with a short belt so i had to purchase one. I purchased the 79.5" belt beacuse everyone told me to and it never fit so i went back and purchased the next size up (80 1/8") and it's worked perfectly since. I have plenty of adjustment left in my tensioner also.
everyone else says they use a 79.5 but i tried to even PRY that belt on and it wasn't going to work. I'm certain it wasn't an error on my part. I can build an engine so a small serpentine belt isn't going to kick my butt. I tried for 2 days since everyone said it "should" fit before i realized there was no way in hell and went to get a new belt.
I have no idea why there would be differences in belt sizes for cars unless a g35 has more tensioner adjustment than a 350z. That would make any sense though because str8 used his kit on a g35 with a 79.5"

can you help me out on this one then??
my tuner told me that the 600cc's are too big for my 350ish hp..
and that he can't controle them under 3k rpm.. either they spray too much or too little..
Binder told me that 600cc's are fine with my setup..
but it would be better for me, to get some advice from you who has tried the same.
thanks

There's no reason they cant be controlled under 3000 rpms. My car idled perfectly stoich with the 600s. Now my 1200s idle rich because you start getting very low on injector pulse width and its hard to control. If I had better injectors like injector dynamics, i would have better control.
BUT, thats only at idle. Once the car is moving, injector size is more or less irrelevant with current tuning solutions

because the kit is stock with a 3.33 pulley, not 2.87. You'll get a belt to fit the STOCK pulley only.

ahh good to know. i never actually measured the belt. I just went by the common rule each pulley drop is 0.5 inches shorter on the belt.
So i guess if it came with a 795, I was using a 785.
When I had to resize my serp belt for my new setup with idler delete, I just bought like 6 belts and used the one that fit best.

u dont need any info. UTEC doesnt adjust for latency etc....
honestly, your tuner sounds very inexperienced. a supercharged UTEC tune is about as easy as it comes. The only column where you'd actually have to scale the injectors (negative numbers) is in the 0% load column. And even then a -12 or so should give you ~14ish AFR at idle.
If you can get 14ish at idle, you can get it anywhere else
