Default What can you do on stock heads, cams, greddy twins and a short block?

560whp in shootout mode on a DynoDynamics... C18 can truly change a beast into an outright monster...

the platform:

- built short block with eagle rods and arias ED pistons
- stock heads and cams
- UTEC
- 550cc injectors
- CJM stage 2 return fuel system
- CJM fuel rails
- Walbro pump
- Greddy twins (original kit, no upgrades)

after much adieu, i decided to try a race fuel map... 484whp (DD STD) was a blast, but of course, i wanted to try more... the result was 560whp and 570tq on DD STD... somehow, my car has become the "guinea pig" for a hybrid build... most not only build the short block, but have cams, valves and/or headwork done during the build... i opted to try and keep things as OEM as possible in the long block... granted this reduces power output, but i think we're getting a good idea of what can truly be done on the VQ without touching the heads in any fashion...

i have plans to have the car dynoed on a DynoJet come the 30th... i'm of the mindset that this will easily be a 600whp car on the DJ...

thanks, again, sharif for satiating my need for speed!

according to sharif, i'm about about 86% duty cycle on the 550s... i don't think they are working too hard due to the base 58psi fuel pressure... granted, i may overwork the walbro at lower hp numbers (than what i could theoretically get) with the fuel pressure this high, but the injectors should benefit from having to work less...

Nice numbers - C18 FTW... I'm getting ready to crank up the boost and run a race fuel map soon too... probably looking at VP C16 or VP Import...

Congrats and Enjoy!

Wow-that is impressive, your base FPR is way above my 40psi base. This makes me want to do my next level of mods even more. Hopefully at next years Z day you can join in on the races, but dont forget your 5 gallon drum of C18!

FYI-my 541whp on Sharif's dyno was 580whp on a Dynojet using STD corrections on both. Your 600whp DJ goal is within reach!

I told you! Congrats. I guesed 550whp. Now go to the track if your scared on breaking some thing just roll off the line and go thru the gears. I am dying to see what the Forged cars are trapping as far as mph. We need a intake plenum fast, that power drop at the end is crazy. Aswome numbers with just a bottom end. Good tune!

track?! no way! ack, my paint job! *haha*

the power drop at the end is nominal... the major dip at around 6600 is where he let off to end the run... but, the other 30 or so hp drop...not too sure what's causing that... maybe sharif has a better idea...
