good kill, but let's think about this... 400 to the wheels took a stock viper by a nose... what do you think you'd do with say a 600+ race fuel map with twins?

I know.. I was thinking with twins i would have raped him..

BTW with the 500+ whp.. How often do you change tires?? I had to get a new set in only 8 months..

i should let you drive my car... it'd sell you on the twins in an instant... *lol*

i haven't yet gone through a set of tires... but, i haven't driven the car over 3k miles since i bought the thing... *haha* i'd say that if you kept it from spinning ALL of the time, you'd get the same out of a set with turbos as you did procharged...

Yea, they were filed down.. SGP had told me they were really sharp as i bought them used.. So they tried the best they could to tone it down without taking too much off the teeth.. Im thinking it may have added to the problem.. and the fact the pulleys were used hard..

The big problem is I need to find a superstrong belt still.. Gates belts just aint cracking it..

Looking for a stronger belt..

http://www.gates.com/catalogs/file_d...gates\catalogs (page 19).. There is a certain math to figuring the right belt.. Also, some belts say they are made for only a certain rpm/hp..

Ive got to find out pitch, teeth.. and some other things.. Ill keep posting this for others to use.. I should find the stronger belt in a few minutes..

Ok, with the stock GT2 powergrip belts that come with the SC.. Part number 560-8MGT (small belt) Part number 880-8MGT (big belt)

Small belt- P.L. 047 / 70 teeth PG 41 of 233
http://www.gates.com/catalogs/file_d...gates\catalogs

Big belt- P.L. 34.646 / 110 teeth PG 45 of 233

I cant seem to find a match on the carbon belt catalog/manual

http://www.gates.com/catalogs/file_d...gates\catalogs

Yeah, I really think some new pulleys would help. Jason, that noise I heard began at about 9psi, and I am speculating that is was worsened by those sharp teeth.

Yep, that could be it.. If i do get new pulleys with a higher psi.. Its gonna be a beotch to get it tuned... Going to your shop is worth it.... but its another long trip for a tune.....

Or i could buy new pulleys with the same psi...

I'd say try some new belts, and see how it works. Seems like the easier thing to do then buying a new pulley and belt, and a tune.

Ok, so in that part number is the 21 the width?? being 21mm wide right.. You should check your part number on your stock belt to see how many teeth it has and try to match up the number of teeth/length..

BTW where do you order your belts?

Ok, if your breaking belts.. They should have told you too.. Those belts arent for vehicles... They are only made for a certain rpm and for machines...

You have to get automotive belts because they are tested and made for high rpms.. I talked to one of the managers in there and they told me that was my problem.. IMO they are right to an extent..

What i meant to say is Motion Industries doesnt make belts for auto's.. They make them for machinery.. Like two small motors that may max at 500 rpm.. I have to contact gates and find a similar carbon belt or polychain that will fit my setup..
