The road racing community has recognized this forever. The fast/skilled driver will turn the fastest laps....not the car with the most power.
Eagle only recently started drag racing, and he quickly went from the high 12's to high 11's on the stock block with street tires...with the same power level. Now he has his new setup...and I have no doubt, he will be going from mid 11's to mid 10's very shortly....with some more practice. No need to brag...I think we all need a little piece of humble pie from time to time.

I could not Agree more Sharif, When I was on the road course (Big Willow @ Willow Springs) Running 550rwhp on my car, a friend of mine Clint (THX723) was still kicking my @ss in his G35 sedan just because he is such a better driver than me (he has been tracking for years vs. my first time)
Perfect example I had 300rwhp MORE than Clint and he still ran far better times than I!
Point in case: It IS all about the driver

Sharif: Again you did a magnificent job with both these cars! Congrats!

what we should do is at track day, if you want to know your car's full potential let Alberto take it for a couple runs. Guaranteed to take 0.4 sec off of your ET.

i will buy them some beer!! hehehe
^ Jeremy, why would they bring down these built monsters only to get beat by a Turbonetics kit on a stock block with a little NO2?
Seriously, it would be cool to see these cars in action... and then beat them!

Skinny tires and gutting interior(unless removing metal) won't do much IMO. When I had some 245 DR's, the lowest 60' I could achieve was 1.77. We tried gutting and fooling with the tire pressure and never could lower the 60'. And we're talking 30+ runs during adjustment.
Finally, I said screw it and bought these DR's/rims pictured. Second run I got a 1.65 and finally broke into 11's. You know how they say .1 off the 60' equals .2 down the track. Well, that was spot on for me.
The first run on my new DR's was a 12.01 w/ a 1.74 60'. Next run was an 11.83 w/ a 1.65 60'. The 60' rule of thumb worked out about right.
For example, if you would have pulled a 1.65 60' which should be obtainable with DR's on a 15"-16" wheel, your run would be around 11.2 <----------- That's what a good driver should have run w/ the right tire and seeing previous threads of yours you could've hit.
If you cant fit 15" rims over your brakes, I would consider installing OEM brakes. Not saying its necessary to do this but I can guarantee its the cheapest and easiest way to lower your 60'.
Oh, and on my 11 second run it was full interior (-spare tire)
