hmm I always thought that grind was sort of normal. Had a little bitof it on my 06 too. Honestly its been like since day 1 so I really can't say. Please take my car out ona test drive before and see if it is an issue.
I can also duplicate and show you the infamous clutch sink problem
Best bang for the buck sports car so I really cant complain. It is a Nissan. Motors are the best but the rest is usually crap...

Jon-I dont have the Probe anymore lol, my DD/support vehicle is a Grand Cherokee Limited now. Id love to take your car for a few passes down the track-12's! Thanks for the offer.

Todd-I would love to help you/anybody out anyway I can. Id love nothing more than to see everybody hit personal goals, and if I cant set the car up by then, I'll be more than glad to help in the pits, with pointers, anything anybody needs.

Julian-you have proved what a stand up guy you are, I didnt invision my set-up changing so drastically, because of that I was hesitant to run the car before the track day cuz of running the risk of breaking something, but Im glad that I did and didnt make a fool of myself on 9/21. I appreciate your offer for other tires, and the fact that you provided suggestions to help me figure things out. In all honesty, after running last Friday I wasnt going to post about my set-up issues-I thought I was gonna get flamed for "excuses"....but I received great input from everybody which is awesome. I really am trying to prep the car correctly for our run-tomorrow Im gonna try to fix the inner CV joint (never done one + swap back to old slicks). I know its not everyday your in MD. I promise if it doesnt work out, I'll go see you in NJ and we'll do it then

As always I'll keep everybody updated...

Not a problem..Gives me a chance to perfect my set up Honestly my engine isnt even back in the car yet. Were pulling my sleeved motor and putting in my old non sleeved motor and a new 6MT tranny...I planned on running cold that day on DR's anyhow. And probably loose badly, never having used the launch control and misfire option between shifting..

I dont want to run your car unless its 100%, you can understand why I feel the same way. Not for a race that has a thread this big and has been talked up

So you figured out the flat shift feature on the FCON? Its a shame I dont see more shop sutilizing the launch control/flat shift feature on more of the FCOn equipped cars. I even know of people with those set-ups who drag race who don thave it working!

Im always down for an "airstrip" run, and let the power and driving do the talking! Of course not even having a race gas map Id hope to be underpowered and still make it a good run

You down Julian?

I'm definitely looking forward to our rematch... But you're not going to have it so easy this time I will NOT be on street tires...

Oh, almost forgot, make sure you don't blow up and get kicked off the track again!

Any plans for a 20 psi. race gas map once you get bigger injectors? Maybe you could get well into the 600 DD rwhp range as well?

18-19psi plans sure, but not anytime soon. I dont want to do it with the UTEC, Im waiting on diff options and will decide what to do when we hear more feedback from owners.

Philthy-I wasnt asking you to "another" race, I know I'll beat you

LOL-I hope you can get it to hook launching on boost! If I dont get things squared away your more than welcome to borrow my 27" tires so you dont have to shift into 5th Julian, that alone will save you 7/10's

You better hope you can - I don't ever recall racing you though

By the looks of things, you only race when your 99% sure you're going to win..

kind of the same philosophy people use for fighting, I guess it can apply to racing as well.

UTEC isn't good for high boost? I remember hearing Dave talk about something called Autronic? Perhaps that could be an alternative? After seeing your drag racing runs, I couldn't imagine what you would be like at around 22 psi. It would be crazy. Maybe you could try to work with those programs that allow you to apply certain boost to each gear or something like that.

maybe something like 5 psi 1st gear, 9 psi. 2nd gear, full boost 3rd gear and on, or something like that.

Philthy, I dont know when you started thinking you were good at drag racing-especially to make a comment like that to me...I posted the video so people wouldnt know that I was lying or backing out for no reason. The possibility of losing-like I had with Sharif, Luie, Joe, and Julian only pumps me up more for a run, it doesnt make me back down If you cant understand that I want the car to be 100% for MY OWN personal standards then that says alot about you. I dont get satisfaction out of running a built car on street tires and running 12's with 500+whp-thats just stupid, who shows up to a gun fight with a knife? I do it one time, I do it right.
