Im no pu$$y, like I said I was in this for me before Julian or anybody for that matter had signed up. I will of course keep you guys updated, Im swicthing back to wider slicks this week, and skinnnier front tires and I still need to fix my Level 5 axles before Friday...
Come on and run your car! I ran my car on Street tires against Julian, side ways through the 60ft (just ask the dozen or so forum members that were there, completely side ways) and spinning through the 1/8 mile... Funny, you were commenting on my driving (or lack there of ), but I was able to get her down the track and continually improved on my times...

Post up your times, let us know where you'll be praticing so we can see what you run...

This is all in 'jest' of course!

I see where Alberto is coming from though. If i was doing shake down runs, then I wouldn't want a big audience commentating and all those distractions either. I would want to be able to try different set ups, driving techniques and things like that on my own.

Alberto, hopefully you get things straightened out by track day. The Z community is highly anticipating your runs.

I doubt it is going to work at a drag strip. They are most likely going to have to do their races on a runway from a roll. This way they can get traction and have a clean run.

Alberto, if the straight line is that scary, will the tail of the dragon be worse? You thinking about tuning your car down to 10 psi so that you can control that monster on the street and through turns?

I have no issues on street tires! In my Z days vid, that was me driving the twisties with low boost, its controllable, MUCH more so than these initial runs down the track...

I want to see this duel between the "two titans" as much as the next guy, but nothing's worth your life or damaging your car for that matter. It would be silly to let pressure from a public forum deter you from making the right decision. Hoping you get it all worked out, but NO BIG DEAL imo if you need more time to iron out the details. everybody chill.

If the car is not 100% Just take the probe to the track. Im sure you can outrun some of the n/a Z's
Why risk such a great investment trying to prove something to the internet nuthuggers. If the Z is not 100% I think its not worth the risk of running it down the track. Im sure the smart ones will understand that this situation is notsomething to take lightly. Last thing I want to see is something break off your car and you losing control of it.

Since we are rentin outthe entire track maybe you 2 can just coast down the quarter at 25mph and go from a roll a little past the quarter mark. Depending how long this track is.

With the ET streets we do a big smokey burnout in 2nd gear. You need to get them hot!!Especially if its the first time your using them, they need to break in. If you wish, we could both use Drag Radials just for fun anyhow..

Bert,

I would not chance wrecking your car if its not setup right.

But you did have over a month to work on it

Anyway, just come out and have fun. Like everyone has said... You dont have anything to prove on a internet forum. We all know you are a good driver.

You can always help me with my launch It needs alot of work.

And help me on my shifts. If you like alberto, you can take my car down the track for a couple of passes. Im sure we're gonna have lots and lots of time on our hands. Show me what my car is capable of

And MRC thanks for the offers for drag tires. I'm pretty sure I will take you up on that deal. Lets have fun! less then 2 weeks and counting.

I will bring some tools, jacks, and spare axles if anyone needs it.

You're always welcome to take it down the track. Think my car is used to the abuse by now anyway. Ever since I bought it back in Easter I took it down the track at least 40-50 times...

I was thinkin about buyin some mustang replica wheels in 17x10.5 or 16x10.5's They are dirt cheap but I was warnedto stay away from them since they are heavy. Im thinking its not that heavy. At most itll weigh same as our stockwheels. Correct me if Im wrong. If not I might purchasea set on ebay.
