Well when you consider that it was for labor, and a carbon hood it is not that bad of a deal really. you can just barely touch a turbo kit alone for that price.

Larry bought a spare belt after reading all the stories about belts shredding. He just called Stillen and asked for Dean and voila we had our belt in a couple of days. Our original belt has many miles on it. The guys that installed it said that you must be VERY CAREFUL when you install these belts or they will shred quickly. I wonder if that is the problem some of you are experiencing?
I know he has the belt checked out every month and the car completely checked out every 30 to 90 days.

In my case at least, my first belt had a thread already loose when i put it on. So i knew it was only a matter of time. This new one seems to be fine. I've only put about 800 miles on it since i installed in in February. So time will tell!

FYI...Talked to Chuck Clements this afternoon. (350z SC tech guy at Stillen) According to him there are two different pully sizes. The standard one, and the one that comes with the stage 4 kit. (upgraded fuel pump, and SS box) Aparently you can buy just the pully as the "stage 3" kit. But he said if you plan on doing any substantal tracking or anything where you are gonna stay in the high RPMs for any length of time, you should run the stage 4 kit as well.

This could all me marketing. I'm not out to prove anyone wrong or whatnot. Hopefully your dyno AF ratios will prove me wrong cause i'd love to be able to just bolt on a pully for more HP.

Well it seems as if the kit runs rich out the box, hence the upgraded pulley with no box change. Awaiting A/Fs......

I agree. i bit the bullet and bought the stage three pully. Apparently Chuck steered me wrong. I suck for putting out bad info!!

Well, that makes no sense because stage 4 on non revup actually makes more power than stage 3. How can a new injector, pump, and a SS box give out 25+ more hp over stage 3 without changing pulley diameter?

Installed the stage 3 pulley, install took like 10 minutes . This is best 90 bucks ever spent, pulls alot harder and the blower whine is increased at all RPM's :P . Dyno coming REAL soon, probly gonna make a new thread because this one is so damn long, maybe we should ask to make it a sticky

You're right. I got bum info. There are three different sizes. I realized this same thing. that's why i called and talked to someone different. Glad to hear it made a difference!! Can you actully tell you have a blower now at idle? How difficult was it to pull off the old pully?

well let us know what your a/f ratio is and if your torque curve is more stable and not so eratic.

It replaces the drive pulley and not the one on the blower like I thought. All you need to do is loosen the tensioner under the drive pulley to the max and the belt will slip off the stage 2 pulley with no effort. Then use a impact wrench and take the bolt off. Next would be to slowly wedge the stage 2 pulley off, it takes some elbow grease to remove it and be carefull not to drop the pin on the pulley.

And then....You get the new pulley, place in the pin and slide it back onto the assembly with a rubber mallet cause it wont slide on with muscles. Make sure the pin is alligned though. Now just torque wrench the bolt in place at 40 pounds and stick the belt back and retighten tensioner. 90 bucks, 10-15 minutes and noticeable power is the conclusion.

And no..... Idle sounds exactly the same, only difference is the blower starts to whine alot earlier in the rpm range and at redline theres more noise. Definitley gained some HP, need to relearn how to launch first gear, traction is alot worse now.

1. Injectors = 10hp
2. pump = 5hp
3. SS box = 10hp
Total = 25hp

I knew you'd get that pulley

Good deal!! I think i'll heat mine up in the oven before i install it. I have next to no room after new radiator install!

I just learned how to launch as it is!!! Guess it's back to the track for more practice!! lol

Yep!! 4SHIZZIL had a good point. It already runs rich anyhow. So as soon as i confirmed that this wasn't the same size as the stage 4 pully i went for it. Should have it by Friday. Can't wait!!
If nothing else it'll keep the inside of my exhaust cleaner. I've noticed when i've been doing alot of "spirited driving" the richness at WOT nasties up my exhaust pretty quickly!

I am almost positive Stage 1 is NOT CARB approved, only the intercooled Stage 2 is (which seems backwards I know). Even if you take a look at your posted link, it only shows the CARB approval at Stage 2.
