That number is RWHP! It is pretty amazing. And I'm not happy about it because now his Z is faster than mine

Default Headers/True Dual

Back Pressure is good to a certain point but at some point in time in a modded car it becomes a bottle neck.

More cold air in more hot gas out can never be a bad thing if done right. These are just shorties close to stock in flow they just look better and are more efficent (and stainless.)

Think about "low end." Is that 0 to say 3000rpm's?

How fast do you think your car will hit 3k rpm's at WOT? Milleseconds?

After that it's all go and all blow (the exhaust out.) I just coined that maybe it's my new sig.

A stock exhaust may choke on 9psi or more I would think especially since part of the stock tube is 2 inches inside the Y pipe.

It may actually make launching easier but it's definately going to fly at WOT and trap higher than a stock exhaust. I could add a 35 to 50 HP N20 shot for TQ or go to a bigger pulley but I'm leaning towards 9 pound pulley instead.

Kieth at FFP said he guesses anwhere from 360 to 390HP depending on how tuning goes (and that is to the rear wheels.)

Let's see how close he comes. He kind of laughed and said, "You definately will be suprising allot of cars that pull beside your Z and watch you pull away from them hehe.) [Sinister grin]
No one will ever know what we have under our hoods now!

Default headers

maxhax, why did u choose borla headers? better cuz it compliments the exhaust? u have a pretty dope set up and can't wait for some numbers from the track. and if u don't mind me asking how much was the install?

12 to 15 hrs*65 per hour no tax FFP may charge more because of Dyno time etc, essential for tuning. I think you can get a package deal with 3 Dyno's. You would have to talk to him.

Headers and catback 65*6 hours estimated he has never done a Z headers before car is too new.

YMMV

Why Borla? Name recognition and bang for the buck price and performance plus Summit Racing carries them and I like dealing with Summit.

Hehe, wait until you hear it. If they have their windows down, they'll know you have SOMETHING under there Trust me, it is by no means subtle, but it does sound pretty mean. And I haven't even heard it at WOT yet.

i have a couple of questions. (1) will it hurt the car if you don't tune and leave it the way is now? and (2) do you think you'll be able to hear the supercharger whining? if not it would be nice, straight sleeper.

(1)No not at all. If you look at the A/F curve, it pretty much stays under 11.5:1 which is pretty safe. It even dips and gets richer between 80-100mph. The tuning is to really even out the fuel curve and get the most power out of it at all ares in the power band.

(2)There is no mistaking the SC whine. Even at idle, it is quite apparent what is lurking under the hood. But it sounds great!

thanks for the response. reason i was asking about tuning is because i have a G35 coupe and want to leave it in stock form. just add the supercharger, with no tuning mods.

i guess being that you can hear the whining that will take away the sleeper affect. having a lux. coupe it would be nice to not have a noticable whine. is there anyway to eliminate the whine?

did you get a torque reading also?

thanks for any replies.

You can leave it in stock form and add the SC without other mods. That wouldn't be a problem, however I would recommend a catback exhaust for improving the flow of the exhuast which will be important with the FI setup.

As far as the whine goes, it comes with the territory. You'd be hard pressed to find an SC out there without a whine. And luxo-coupe or not, the G35 is very sporty and I don't think the SC would be so out of place on it.

We did get a torque reading, it just wasn;t on that graph. I'm going to get another graph on monday and post it up with torque and RPM numbers on it.

If you have any other questions about your car, PM me or send me an email at spencers@alteredatmosphere.com. I'll be glad to help you

Sorry if I missed this, but do you have to lose the strut bar with the Procharger? I realize the crawford plenum requires it to be removed, but not sure about the SC

Nope. Check out the recent pics of Max's car. You can see that the SC itself nor the piping to the TB interfere with the STB.

Ahhh Haaaahhh, it's an Aeromotive FMU, that is an excellent setup. I'm even more excited now. That is going to be soooo easy to adjust with a wideband O2 sensor

Smile Thank you so very much MaxHax

I would like to thank you for getting the SC. I, and many others have been waiting for this mod and you have jumped in first. You deserve credit for that venture. I love the look of the product and technical application as for as “it makes sense to me”. We all appreciate your enthusiasm you place in your car and this web site. It helps us a lot more than you may know. So my hax off to you. Thanks.

Spencer, You have GOT to post some sound clips and/or some video clips of this kit in action. How about a video or audio of a dyno run?

Help us out here man!

how come you guys got a speed dyno and not an rpm dyno? i'd really like to see that. I also have a G coupe and am wondering how effective the intercooler would be since we dont have that perfect IC cutout in our bumpers.

I'm sorry if I have missed it! What is the difference between the two ATI procharger kits available for the Z besides the $500.00 price? I believe the names are Tuner kit and a larger capacity intercooler kit.

The tuner kit does not come with the FMU or Fuel Pump, and also comes with a 9psi pulley, but I guess you can request any pully you want anyway. Im really hopeing Techno Square will tune an ECU that works with larger injectors for this kit.
