Hey Max,
I haven't even received my kit yet. I was going to cancel the order, but they keep promising. Its getting quite frustrating. When it finally does ship, I have to make the 3 hour drive to AA to pick it up. I wanted to check out their shop, so I didn't bother paying to get it shipped directly to me. I'm hoping it will be in this week so I can install it this weekend. Hurry up ATI!!!!! You wouldn't like me when I'm angry

My bad I thought you were like first in line, long thread to keep up with.

I heard a batch goes out Monday and another Wednesday. Don't trip if they can't give you a tracking number immediately like I did it's true that their system is set up to where their tracking numbers run 24 hours behind.

I know the part causing the delay issue was resolved.

Can't wait to see pics!

WOW! I was at a Z32 meet (one 350z showed, where were you guys? ) and this thread exploded! Good to see a lot of you guys are finally getting the SCs installed.

Mike actually went to the strip this weekend to get some timeslips for the Z with the procharger on it now. I will make sure to post them tomorrow. Also, I will get the dyno chart that plots the torque curve as well. And I will do my best to get a few mpegs of the car starting up, idling, revving, and maybe on the dyno. We'll see!

And to all those that PM'd me, I will get back to you tomorrow morning with answers. Looks like it has been a good weekend!

Default Supercooled air !

There is a company here in Nashville that has a system that injects CO2 into the intercooler, or before the intercooler somehow. They said that it should add another 30 hp. I'm thinking of doing this after the procharger install. Does anyone on here know of such as system ??

Paul,

This "mist" that it will fire, won't really give you any horsepower. It might give you BACK lost hp...

An intercooler can actually act as your worst enemy for daily driving. As it sits there soaking up the heat, it's actually further "heating" the air as it passes through. Thus acting like a giant heatsink for your engine... many people that are making BIG boost, i.e. Supras, etc... fire CO2 onto their intercooler for an instant "cool-down" returning their intercoolers back to a temperature that will yield colder intake numbers.

Now note that there are ALSO ways to inject water, etc.. INTO the manifold along with fuel, etc... this is such a thin mist that it acts as an additional coolant feature. (Do NOT go this path unless you have personally read a bunch about it, and am VERY comfortable with it... do NOT trust someone to set this up, as NO SHOP around here is experienced enough with HIGH BOOST cars)

Default ATI Procharger Install

Almost....but not quite there yet. We have the FMU to tweak and a little tuning to do !!!!

this dyno chart was suppose to be from ATI procharger, but haven't seen this on any of the procharger thread. Is this dyno accurate? If so, this is exciting. Makes you wonder why this SC is better than others plus turbos

Been one of the quiet people just sitting around and watching this thing and EVERYTHING looks GREAT. Thanks for all of the pics, updates and everything else guys. It's GREATLY appreciated. Only thing I saw that I didn't like was the placement and routing of the cone filter tubing (kinda harsh angles there, but nothing bad I 'spose.) Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see results.

That dyno plot was posted once before, but good to see it again. We can compare it to this latest install.

The thing i didnt like was the IC not being centered. I had this fear while I saw it even w/o the bumper installed, but now you can see it's off-center a bit too much. Oh well.

Default ATI info

jritoli

Thanx for the responses.

So the ATI setup "doesn't" come with a "booster" pump?
How is the kit's FMU deliver more fuel to the injectors under boost?

a) increasing factory Fuel pump voltage (ie. like a kenne bell Boost-a-pump).
b) fooling with the air-mass signals to the factory ECU.
c) other???

Also , does the default ATI kit replace the factory thermostat with a cooler ~160)? If they do , a useful ECU upgrade would be to kick the electric fan on at a comparable level, which would stablize temperature even in stop-and-go.

This will be my first FI application to a Nissan VQ, so I am not sure how well the CARB emissions will react to a lower than factory engine temperature. The domestic FI apps seem to pass CARB fine even with a lower 160.

A lower fan trip pojnt could buy margin for those concerned with the IC blocking radiator to the radiator.

Default ATI , CO2 and Water injection

Evil350Z.

I have sued water injection into the intake (pre TB) and when properly adjusted it will add 10,20,30 hp since it can allows a smaller SC pully (2-3psi) and/or more timing advance on the same octane gas.

What WI does (and it's not magic , it has been used ever since WW2 in high performamance SC'd prop planes). To a point it allows lower octane gas to burn more like higher octane gas (slower ignition and less explosive = detonation). This is a great tool , since the pump gas has degraded to 91-93 in US.

Compared to CO2 it is a lot less of a pain to re-fill. Usually just clean water in your washer tank. Alcohol (ie Methanol @ 50%) should be added especially as anti-freeze in winter climates.
The method of operation is very simple.

A shop (though mostly domestic setups) in NewYork, has lot's of WI in FI'd apps:

www.kennedysdynotune.com/

There is another shop in TN which sells systems specifically for SC'd BMWs, based upon Aquamist systems out of the UK, but I don't have the link.

Something else to note , WI can make back to back dyno pulls very consistent , since it levels combustion temperatures.

Actually it does. I dont have a clear picture of it but you can just see the corner of it in the red circle in this photo of my install - it has two leads attached to it's end. It has the capacity to take fuel pressure up to 100 psi and is controlled by the voltage from the FMU. You can just barely see the end of it here ...

Default ATI

Sanderman ,Thanx , for the pic. Got another straight on from the front. Interested on how much IC , plumbing and Filter appear from front.

I must admit , seeing the fuel boot bump mounted so high in the chassis , kind of concerned me (possible higher propensity to vapor lock and/or not prime immediately).

But I guess since the factory in-tank pump keeps the inlet of the in-line booster "under positive pressure" as soon as the key is turned on , it is probably OK.

I'm just a little suprised that ATI would pick such a "high" mount point, I would have expected near or below low fuel tank level.

Pretty much all of the IC is visble. The air filter is above it and can't really be seen at all. You can also see the ends of the IC inlet and outlet hoses (thought they are black) and their fittings...

Default ATI and Water Injection

FYI :

Here is a Aquamist distributer/tuner that specializes in Water Injection on FI SAABs, BMWs etc. They may be willing to set up and sell a pre-tuned system for the new ATI on Z/G users out there.

Default ATI

Sanderman , wowo your quick , Thanx again.

I wonder is a silver (rather than black) mesh might visually masks it a bit.

I prefer to be a stealthy as possible , even though the whine will
still draw attention.

I guess If someone asks about the whine a response can always be "yeh I've gotta get this stinkin' power steering pump replaced .

I've used that line before on my FI pickup.

That's the other thing I notice that I liked about this kit. The intake is not too low, unlike the CAI kits, and protected so it wouldn't be wet when driving through rain or puddles.

Default Cooling

I have the silver Stillen race grille in front so I doubt my IC will even show.

If I was just gonna race I wouldn't even use a grille just keep it like in your pic

As for cooling I will be using a 'smallish' N20 shot for that.

I have also been seen at the track with a can of compressed air for my plenum hehe, so I guess I will have hand held CO2!

HHC02 (I trade mark that in writing here and now!)

My car is being tuned today too, what timing and great pics!

That 369 is real; I recall (and Spencer can chime in) that 369 is what Mike hit at AA after tuning. IIRC he gained 10RWHP from tuning!

I also want to add on pricing and labor that the prices I quoted include installing an EGT Wide band tap into my Borla Headers and installing a GReddy guage in my NAV compartment.

Just an FYI.

Are you guys going to cut out your grill and let the IC show?
